A new poll on old friends found we lose touch with one good friend per year, on average.  And 70% of people agree it gets harder to stay in touch the older you get.

The average person said they've lost touch with eight or nine good friends over the past decade.  The average for men is closer to 10.

According to the poll, here are the top five reasons we lose touch . . .

1.  Geographical distance.  Someone moves, and the friendship just fades.

2.  Life transitions.  Like getting married or having kids.

3.  They stopped reaching out.

4.  You stopped reaching out.

5.  Life gets busy, and you just don't have enough time.

We've now got over 24,000 objects orbiting us, including a ton of space junk.  A new study found satellites have to reposition themselves constantly to avoid it all.  Some of them have to perform 10 or more maneuvers per month to avoid getting hit.

Mosquitos were found in Iceland for the first time. Antarctica is now the only place that doesn't have them. The species "appears to be well adapted to colder climates."

Less than a week before the kids are at the door demanding candy!!!!

There's a new report out on the two candies that are struggling the most throughout the past year, and not surprisingly, candy corn is #2.  Also not surprisingly, licorice is #1.  Consumer interest in candy corn is down 9.1% year-over-year, and licorice is down 13.6%.

Beyond those two, "marshmallow candy" dropped 9% in interest, and caramel apples are down almost 7%.

So what is GAINING in popularity?

Haribo gummies rose in interest by 48% . . . randomly, old-school Baby Ruth candy bars are up 42%.  And Hershey's Kisses have jumped 37% in interest compared to last year.

Other less common ones include:  Matcha cookies are skyrocketing, with 139% growth . . . crunchy treats like candy bark, brittle, and cereal clusters have surged 11% . . . and general caramel sweets other than caramel apples, are up 10%.

A new poll asked 10,000 Americans if THEY have any tattoos they regret.

The answer they got back was a resounding yes.  If you have tattoos, there's roughly a one in four chance you have regrets.

28% of people with tattoos said they regret at least one of them.

That said, the poll found tattoos have become a lot more acceptable over the years. Less than a third of us now have an "unfavorable" opinion of them in general.

6% even said they'd be MORE likely to vote for a politician who had visible tattoos on their body.

An 80-year-old lady from Michigan became the oldest woman to hike the entire Appalachian Trail . . . more than 2,000 miles from Georgia to Maine.  She did it all after having her knee replaced.

Read a good book about the trail by Bill Bryson called A Walk in the Woods.
