1987
Depeche Mode released their sixth album Music for the Masses. The lead single "Strangelove" only made #50 on the Hot 100 but #1 on the Club chart and #5 on the Dance Singles Sales chart. "Never Let Me Down Again" was another club hit at #12.
"Behind the Wheel" made #3 Club.
1997
Usher released his second album My Way. Three singles were released, "You Make Me Wanna..." (#2 Hot 100, #1 R&B and Rhythmic, #7 Mainstream Top 40), his first #1 "Nice & Slow" (#1 R&B and Rhythmic), and "My Way" (#2 #4 R&B #5 Rhythmic.)
Chumbawamba released their eighth album Tubthumber. "Tubthumping" hit #6 and #1 Alternative, Adult Top 40, and Mainstream Top 40. Nothing like pissing the night away.
The Verve released their third album Urban Hymns. "Bitter Sweet Symphony" made #12 on the Hot 100. (#3 Adult Alternative #8 Adult Top 40, #4 Alternative, #22 Mainstream Rock, #23 Mainstream Top 40.)
Loreena McKennitt released her sixth album The Book of Secrets. "The Mummer's Dance was remixed by DNA and made #18 on the Hot 100 and #17 on the Modern Rock Chart.
