What’s an everyday extreme sport you participate in? What the internet said:

My favorite extreme sport is trying to carry all the groceries inside in one trip so I don’t have to go back to the car.

Taking a gamble on if the leftovers have gone bad yet.

Washing the dog with the intent of both of us coming away from it with both our dignities intact and no hard feelings shared. It has yet to happen.

The longest-running Oktoberfest in the United States kicks off September 10th in Helen, Georgia, and runs through November 1st . The 56-year tradition features German bands, dancing, authentic food, a parade, and the all-important keg-tapping ceremony.

Winter is shaping up to be a season of snow, sleet and surprises, according to the Farmers’ Almanac and The Old Farmer’s Almanac. The Farmers’ Almanac’s 2026–27 outlook calls for periodic bursts of cold and snow. The Northeast may face a particularly messy mix of rain, sleet, ice and heavy wet snow, especially farther inland. The Old Farmer’s Almanac says major climate influences — including El Niño, ocean temperatures and the polar vortex — will help determine winter patterns nationwide, with regional forecasts offering different expectations from coast to coast.

Research shows car steering wheels carry twice as many germs as toilets. Tests showed that steering wheels averaged 41,600 germs, compared with 17,400 on a toilet seat. 

Also, only 13 percent of people clean their cars regularly, while 5 percent never bother to clean them at all. Men clean their cars 14 times a year, while women manage 12 cleans. Those around 55 clean the most.
