National Welsh Rarebit Day - also known as Welsh rabbit, is a British dish that is served and celebrated today. The name of the dish dates to eighteenth-century Britain: "Welsh rabbit" first appeared in 1725, while "Welsh rarebit" was first mentioned in 1785. Just as is the case with mock turtle soup, there is no meat in the dish. According to legend, Welsh peasants prepared it using cheese instead of meat, as the meat was not affordable.
Welsh rarebit consists of toasted bread covered in a mixture of hot cheddar cheese, beer (or ale or milk), and other ingredients for seasoning, such as mustard, cayenne pepper, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce.

Yesterday was Telephone Tuesday!!
Did your phone at work ring off the hook?
The Tuesday after Labor Day is supposedly the day businesses get the most phone calls all year.
Think about it: Everyone's back from the long weekend . . . kids are in school again . . . and adults are finally free to tackle their mountain of to-dos. So, the world wakes up and says, "Yeah, I should probably call about that thing I've been putting off since June."
More businesses use automated menus to direct people online and to chat bots.
It's harder and harder to talk to a human . . . even at many small businesses . . . and that's an UNWELCOME change.
In a recent poll, 62% of customers prefer "human interactions" over automated ones . . . and 77% believe a phone call is the best, most efficient way to get an answer.

MTV is giving us a taste of the good ol' days with 24/7 music videos. It started Monday and will run until the "MTV Video Music Awards" on Sunday.
It's not on the main MTV channel, though. You'll be able to watch your constant stream of videos on MTV2, MTV Live, MTV Classic, and their Pluto channel, MTV Biggest Pop.
There's a lineup of over 700 videos in 12 different categories, like Best of the 1980s, Best of the 1990s, Videos That Go Bump in the Night, Videos That Make Us Howl, and Best Celebrity Cameos.
MTV says the artists with the most videos being aired are Britney Spears with 21, Beyoncé with 18, Madonna with 17, Eminem with 15, and Michael Jackson with 12.
Backstreet Boys have 11, and Mariah Carey, 'N Sync, and Justin Timberlake have nine videos each.
