Today's AskReddit, "What's your 'don't knock it 'til you try it' life hack?"
Pilates. "It's great for everyone, but it's life-changing if you're over 50."
Mammalian diving reflex. "Just splashing water on your face, while holding your breath, triggers the nervous system to slow the heart rate and redirect blood to vital organs. It's some good [stuff]."
Frozen towels. "Putting a damp paper towel (or regular towel) in the freezer for a few minutes and then using it to quickly cool down your face and neck."
Heating towels. "If you're reheating meat, pasta, rice, or pizza in the microwave, put a wet paper towel over the food. It keeps it from drying out."
Folding laundry while watching trash TV.
Forcing smiles. "Smile broadly for a minute every morning when you are alone, like in the shower. It tricks your brain into thinking you're happy."
Homemade take-out. "After making burgers or sandwiches, wrap them in food wrapping paper, like a deli or takeout joint would do, then set them down for 10 minutes. It really gets everything to come together and marinate."
Cheez-Its in soup, instead of crackers. "Also: Goldfish crackers in chili."
Grilling a PB&J sandwich, just like a grilled cheese.
Potato chips in your deli / tuna fish sandwich. "Crunchy with the mushy."
Freezing grapes. "They make great 'ice cubes' for chilled wine or drinks."
Green Granny Smith apples and sharp cheddar cheese.
Putting toothpaste on mosquito bites. "They'll disappear, or at least not itch anymore, within minutes." And someone else added, "Heat up a spoon until it is warm, and press it on the bite. The heat nixes the protein that makes it itch."
A tiny pinch of salt in coffee. "And on watermelon." (Grapefruit as well)
Using scissors (or kitchen shears) to cut up a pizza.

According to a new survey from Triple-A, 96% of American drivers admit to performing at least one aggressive driving behavior in the past year.
That's stuff like: Running red lights . . . speeding . . . tailgating . . . honking . . . and cutting off other vehicles on the road.
The data shows that "cutting off other vehicles" and "honking out of anger" is UP from back in 2016, while "tailgating" and "yelling at other drivers" is DOWN.
11% of drivers in the study say they've also engaged in "violent actions," like intentionally bumping into another car, or confronting another driver.
The study found people under 60 . . . and people with household incomes of $100,000 or more . . . are most likely to drive aggressively.

Someone put up a poll online, asking "Is it rude to say 'yeah' instead of 'yes'?" They added, quote, "For context, my partner always corrects me when I say 'yeah' and says it's 'so rude.' I think it's just casual? Thoughts?"
Well, about 5% of people said yeah . . . or yes . . . they think it IS rude. The remaining 95% said no.
In the comments, one person said, "Is your partner 60 years old? Chillax." Another said, "I feel it's rude if you're over 15, but apparently that's a minority opinion." The person who asked the question said his partner is 28.

Attempts to censor Jimmy Kimmel worked perfectly . . . for Jimmy Kimmel.
Tuesday night's monologue . . . his first back from suspension by ABC . . . had more than 19 million views as of last night.
That breaks Jimmy's record for monologue videos. The previous #1 was the monologue he delivered eight years ago about his son's birth and heart disease. That one has about 14 million views.
Jimmy typically draws about 1.6 million viewers on ABC, but the network is expecting a lot more than that from Tuesday's show . . . even without Sinclair and Nexstar stations, which account for about 20% of ABC affiliates.

Several breweries in Denver are hosting their first-ever bra-free run that will ultimately benefit Coloradans diagnosed with breast cancer.
Now before you get all hot and bothered and think it's terrible....It's happening next month, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Organizers say racers can, quote, "run, walk, skip, or 'whatever floats your boat.'"

A writer for "Huff Post" asked people of all ages for their best advice on flirting. And she boiled their comments down to one line for each generation.
1. Boomers: "Be yourself and be respectful." Or as one guy put it, "They will eventually get to meet [the real] you. Why not now?"
2. Gen X: "Be funny, interesting, AND interested." In other words, don't be too stiff, don't be boring, and also LISTEN.
3. Millennials: "Be friendly and witty." So, similar advice. Being funny or quick-witted helps. And don't be a jerk.
4. Gen Z: "Be complimentary, cheeky, and authentic." So again, be respectful, don't take things too seriously, and be yourself.
The writer who talked to them saw some other similarities across all generations too. Quote, "Everyone, whether they were 18 or 79, wanted to be seen, respected, and listened to. They didn't want their boundaries crossed. They wanted to laugh and have fun."

We haven't had a good supergroup in a while. Some from the past were Asia, Travelling Wilburys, and Power Station, and that's about to change, thanks to Howl Owl Howl.
It's a collaboration between Mike Mills from R.E.M., Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman, and Darius Rucker from Hootie and the Blowfish.
They describe their sound as roots rock with an alternative flair. Their first single, "My Cologne", will drop on Halloween, followed by a tour that kicks off November 3rd in Indianapolis.

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - It costs you approximately 21 to 29 cents every year to use your turn signals, based on the amount of energy they use and the tiny amount of gas that takes. (so there's no reason to not use them....idiots!)
