People Are Sharing The “Useless” Things They Learned In School That Really Haven’t Helped Them In Adult Life.
"That being an excellent student will get you a high paying job."
"I was taught to make up strong passwords by combining three nouns at random to make an unguessable safety lock. Now, we need numbers and special characters, so that’s not useful anymore."
"Not to question authority."
"Cursive writing."
"Probably how to dissect a frog. I haven't used that skill once since school."
"Memorizing the entire periodic table."
"That people will come up to you and offer you free drugs. Hasn't happened yet."
"Learning to play 'Hot Cross Buns' on the recorder."
"So far, everything. BTW, I'm 67 and completely serious."

Yesterday was National Cheeseburger Day!

82% of Americans like cheeseburgers. 66% of people like them topped with American cheese, with cheddar being a close second. Swiss is our third favorite, followed by pepper jack and provolone.
AskReddit wondered what's the strangest burger topping people have had that somehow worked.
Peanut Butter. Someone said, "Don't knock it till you try it."
Another said, A restaurant near me has a burger called Jeds burger. A burger, cheese, bacon, peanut butter and pickles. Delightful.
A glazed donut for a bun.
Fennel, Brie cheese, fig jam, and bacon . . . all together.
Refried beans, guacamole, and pico de gallo.
Pineapple . . . fused to the burger with cheese.
Peanut sauce and pickled ginger.
Green olives.
A slice of fried bologna.
Fried mac and cheese, instead of normal cheese.
Kimchi.
Banana.
COLD cheese . . . especially deli American.
Marshmallow fluff and chili sauce.
A slice of ham. So a TRUE HAM-burger.
Hot dogs. As a burger topping.
Gummy bears.

Recently, I've been getting Facebook reels of The Strangest Flea Market. This to me is why AI was invented.
Oh you want practical uses? What about answering your phone calls?
AT&T is currently testing an "A.I. receptionist," which can answer your calls . . . and block spam.
Oh..here's my way...just don't answer unknown numbers..if it's not spam, they'll leave a message.
The A.I. receptionist will say "Who may I say is calling?" or "What is this in regard to?" If the caller checks the right boxes, then the call is passed through to you. If it fails, the system will hang up, or take a message.
(so it's really like a live captcha..i'm not a robot box)

Now that the fast paced summer season is passing, it's time to maybe clean out your fridge, and what about the freezer. Mine is jam packed!
Is that frozen food still safe to eat? How long should you keep food in your freezer?
Technically, frozen food will last forever if stored at 0°F. However, we’re only talking about the safety here; foods will not be dangerous to eat.
BUT
The food’s color, flavor, and texture will start to deteriorate. For example, most food, including cooked meat, will be kept for a few months before quality begins to suffer.
Harder/brick cheeses - about 6 months
Butter - 6-9 months
Milk - 3 months
Fatty fish like Salmon - 2-3 months
Some fruits can go 10-12 months
Meat - Cooked 2-6, Hot Dogs/Sausage/Bacon 1-2, uncooked ground 3-4 and roasts, steaks or chops 4-12
Chicken uncooked - 12 months
When freezing liquids or foods with liquid, be sure to leave space in the container for expansion.

Ever since I was a kid, I've been promised flying cars by this time...well,
Two flying cars collided in mid-air on Tuesday while rehearsing for an air show in China. Both pilots are okay. One of them sustained minor injuries.
Officials say they were performing stunts in formation and got a little too close. They're quadcopter flying cars, not the airplane kind.
One of them was able to land safely. The other flying car burst into FLAMES when it landed.
Several news outlets are calling it the first flying car crash ever. Or at least the first where two of them crashed into each other.

Ed Sheeran was offered a chance to do the FIRST gig in space, but he had to turn it down. His reason is pretty relatable, especially for parents.
Quote, "It terrifies me. I want to go to space when it's like flying to France and 40,000 people have done it, and you can just book it online. I don't want to be a guinea pig for that, because it still is dangerous.
"There's places on this planet that I haven't been to, I've never been to Greenland, I would love to go to Greenland, there's places on this planet I would far rather go to than space . . . I'm not going to risk my kids not having a dad."
Ed and his wife share two daughters, ages 3 and 5.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - One of the reasons the World Wildlife Fund went with a panda bear for their logo is because it's black and white, which saves money on printing costs.
