People refer to the 2000s as the start of a new golden age of TV.  But some important stuff was happening in the '90s, too.  Here are 10 shows from that decade that really changed things:

1.  "The Simpsons":  "Reshaped comedy, animation, and pop culture as we know it."

2.  "Friends":  "A global phenomenon that redefined the modern sitcom."

3.  "Buffy the Vampire Slayer":  "Elevated teen TV and proved genre could be emotionally profound."

4.  "Seinfeld":  "Turned nothing into something and changed TV comedy forever."

5.  "The X-Files":  "Brought paranoia, science fiction, and mythmaking into the mainstream."

6.  "ER":  "Turned medical dramas into high-stakes, character-driven epics."

7.  "Law & Order":  "Redefined procedural storytelling for the modern era."

8.  "Charmed":  "Proved female-led genre TV could be both magical and mainstream."

9.  "Beverly Hills, 90210":  "Made teen dramas a serious and wildly popular TV genre."

10.  "Twin Peaks":  "Blurred the line between television and art in a way no show had before."

A zoo in Denmark is in the news after asking people to donate......

their pets, so they can feed them to the lions and other apex predators.

The Aalborg Zoo is in northern Denmark.  They made the appeal on Facebook last Thursday, saying, "Did you know that you can donate smaller pets to [us]?"  And they're not talking about sick pets they only accept healthy ones.

According to the zoo's website, they only accept pet rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs, and small horses. They say your child's beloved bunny will be "gently euthanized" before it's torn apart by a wild animal. (well that's reassuring!!)

They explained that some zoo animals . . . including big cats . . . should really be eating animals whole, fur and all.  It better simulates what they'd eat in the wild, and it's a win-win because "nothing goes to waste."

Not everyone online thinks it's crazy, by the way.  A handful of people are defending the zoo . . . calling people soft and naïve . . . and saying the policy makes sense.

The latest TikTok hack is supposed to help your vacuum pick up more dirt by weighing it down.  But the item people are using to add weight is the most impractical thing you could think of.

ree

The hack is:  Weigh the front of your vacuum down by putting a watermelon on top of it.

The site "Tom's Guide" tested it out and said it does seem to help your vacuum pick up more dirt.  But they had to go really slow or the melon would just roll off immediately. (maybe because you are going slower it picks up more dirt?)

They said using a watermelon upped the "fun" factor. So try it if you want . . . or maybe use a big bag of rice instead.

In Louisiana, the most common speed limit is 65 miles per hour on multi-lane divided highways.  So "you can't drive 55" . . . and starting this week, you can't drive 64 either.

A new law just went into effect in Louisiana that bans people from driving below the speed limit in the left lane on highways . . . and you can get cited for being just one mile per hour under.

Drivers will face a $150 fine on their first offense of driving too slow . . . $250 on their second . . . and $350 on their third, and at that point, you could also be facing jail time.

In most states, drivers are supposed to stay in the right lane unless they're passing another vehicle, or preparing for a left turn.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Big Ben isn't the name of the clock or the clock tower in England . . . it's just the name of one of the bells hanging in the tower.  The tower's name is Elizabeth Tower.
