Internaut Day - The internet and World Wide Web weren't born in a day, so their birthdates aren't singular events. But August 23rd doesn't even register as a date when a significant event related to the internet or the World Wide Web took place. Still, Internaut Day, observed on August 23rd, celebrates the invention of the World Wide Web. (The World Wide Web and the internet are distinct from each other, and "internaut" can be defined as a person who has a deep knowledge of how to use the internet, as well as of its history.)

In NYC, the latest "what was that" is dubbed "The Tumblehair."

A 10-foot-tall rolling ball of real human hair!!!

It's been created to mark the launch of Future IQ, the latest "hair longevity" serum from biotech haircare brand K18. The product is "clinically proven to help retain up to 19,000 more hairs, visibly reduce greys and improve scalp barrier function after 90 days".

Lauren Cooper and Cara Johnson, both creative directors at Uncommon, said, "We wanted to flip the script and encourage a conversation about a topic people tend to shy away from, despite many of us experiencing this at some point in our lives. The Tumblehair takes something that 80 million Americans are dealing with, and makes it impossible to ignore. It's an absurd visual, but that's exactly the point."

Creativeboom.com finished their article by saying, "All we want to know is how they make it move. And where they got the hair from in the first place. And what they plan to do with the giant hairball once the stunt's over. To be honest, I think we should remain clueless."

Medical professionals are warning consumers against taking extreme wellness and "maxxing" trends to dangerous levels. Providers highlighted three specific habits causing concern: completely eliminating whole food groups, stacking numerous unmonitored supplements, and using continuous glucose monitors to track blood sugar when no diabetic or medical condition exists.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - 1959 President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed an executive order officially proclaiming Hawaii as the 50th and final state of the United States. (As he signed it, you could hear someone in the audience say,"you have got to be kidding me!!! It was the person who designed the flags..he just redesigned it the year before for Alaska!)
