When you find a spider in your home, do you kill it . . . burn the place to the ground . . . or are you a catch-and-release type?

A new poll found 30% of Americans have spared the life of a bug or other pest in the past year, and set it free outside.  That's how many who've done it themselves or have made someone else in their home do it.

Two-thirds said they, or someone else, has also "manually killed" a pest in the last 12 months.  No mercy.

Here are the Top 10 pests Americans say they see in their home most often.

1.  Flies.  51% said it's common.

2.  Spiders, 48%

3.  Ants, 41%

4.  Mosquitos, 38%

5.  Gnats, 33% (would this include fruit flies?)

6.  Moths, 21%

7.  Wasps, 18%

8.  Bees, 18%

9.  Cockroaches, 16%.  6% said they find cockroaches "most days."

10.  Crickets, 14%

Mice are next.  Then fleas, silverfish, RATS, and bedbugs.  5% of Americans also have regular run-ins with raccoons, and 4% have to look out for snakes.

Vents (and the grates in the floor if you have those)

Door Handles and Light Switches

If you could only put one condiment on your hot dog tomorrow, which one would it be?  Ketchup, mustard, or something else?

A poll looked at the most popular hot dog toppings.  And different states had different answers.  But #1 overall is mustard.

73% of Americans like mustard on hot dogs.  Ketchup is next at 62%.  Then onions, relish, and chili all got at least 50%.

Mustard was the top condiment in 14 states . . . Ketchup, 12 . . . relish, 10 . . . onions, 8 . . . and chili, 6.

Here are five more quick stats . . .

1.  People said the "perfect" hot dog would have some combination of those five toppings.  It should also be grilled and come on a white bun, not wheat.

2.  The top sides with a hot dog are French fries, potato salad, and potato chips.  Baked beans and macaroni-and-cheese round out the top five.

3.  91% of Americans like hot dogs and eat an average of two a month.  But around 40% said they eat more than that this time of year.

4.  91% also think hot dogs are an "American food staple."

5.  Only 33% think hot dogs are sandwiches.  67% said they're not.

Do you own anything "vintage"?  Maybe check the back of your bedside table drawer . . .

Someone noticed Apple now lists their original AirPods as a "vintage" product.

We're not talking about the old ones with wires.  We mean the first wireless ones that came out WAY back in September of 2016.  So, less than eight years ago.

Apple considers a product to be "vintage" five years after they stop selling it.  So it's really just their own definition.  But it's weird to hear a term we associate with antiques used to describe a wireless product.

They moved it to their vintage list on Monday along with their first-generation HomePod smart speaker, and the iPhone X that came out in 2017.

Workers in northern China were demolishing an old house, and had to call in the bomb squad when they found a LIVE GRENADE.

So how did it get there?  The 90-year-old woman who lived in the house found it in a field a while back . . . and had been using it as a HAMMER for 20 years.

It's an old World War Two-era grenade with a wooden handle.  She didn't know what it was and thought it was a tool.

She told police she'd been using it to hammer nails, and also as a nutcracker.

She'd used it so much over two decades, the wooden handle was smooth and glossy from all the wear.  And the metal head at the end was full of dents.

Police safely detonated the device, and no one was hurt.

A couple's wedding invitation is all over social media because it's really a NON-invite.

They sent out an announcement to let people know they're having a "private ceremony," and that they're NOT invited.

It said they'd like you to join them in SPIRIT . . . but they misspelled "spirit" as "SPIRT".

People are calling it tacky and a total gift-grab.  Like, "Hey you're not invited.  But could you buy us a blender anyway?"

Their wedding is March 8th, 2025.  Experts say intimate weddings could be a big trend over the next few years as people try to rein in spending.

"Congratulations!!! I will use your gift for you in spirt"

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson were supposed to record an entire album of duets together in 1983, but Freddie bailed because Michael kept bringing his llama into the studio.

In fact, “State of Shock” from The Jacksons' album Victory (celebrating 40 years) was supposed to be him, instead, they got Mick Jagger.
