St. Swithin's Day - He was originally buried in front of the Old Minster Cathedral—the cathedral that preceded the Winchester Cathedral—as he had requested. He wanted this to be his resting place so that rain would fall on his grave, and because "the feet of ordinary men could pass over him."

After becoming the patron saint of the cathedral's Benedictine monastery, his body was dug up on July 15, 971; his bones were placed in a reliquary and he was buried in a shrine inside the cathedral. This was seen as going against Swithin's wishes, and legend has it that it then rained over the cathedral for 40 days—a sign of heaven's anger at the reburial.

According to legend, whatever the weather is on that day, it is supposed to be the same for the next 40 days. If it is rain, then it will continue to rain; if it is sunny, the sun won't let up for 40 days. (we've had enough rain...please be a good weather day!)

Yesterday was National Mac and Cheese Day . . . and in a new survey, 86% of Americans say it's an "adult" food, not just for kids.  And 54% eat macaroni and cheese weekly . . . and most of them prefer it for dinner, as opposed to lunch.

And the passion is REAL.  56% say they would give up coffee or social media before giving up macaroni and cheese.

Here are two other stats:

32% of people say mac-and-cheese is their top comfort side . . . and more than 75% typically eat it with a fork, not a spoon.

A researcher in the U.K. has found that you can keep your home more than six degrees cooler, by simply covering your windows . . . in yogurt.  Seriously.

The yogurt forms a thin film on the window itself, and reflects some of the incoming solar radiation due to its light color . . . so less heat passes through.

The scientists used a supermarket-brand of Greek yogurt that has a fat percentage of about 10%.  We're assuming it was PLAIN flavored, so you don't have random chunks of strawberries or peach on your windows.

Naturally, you probably have questions.

It can be applied from the outside . . . "painted" with a roller.

If you're worried about the smell, don't be.  Supposedly, the yogurt smells for "30 seconds when drying," but as soon as it dries "the smell disappears."

They claim it isn't messy.  In fact, you can keep it on for a while . . . as long as there isn't a heavy rain.  And that it's "simple" to wash off with a cloth and water.  They also say it hasn't been known to attract insects and other pests.

A new study found Monday's keep messing with us even when we're no longer working.

Researchers tested people's hair to see how much of the stress hormone cortisol they'd been producing.

The ones who said Mondays were the most stressful day of the week had 23% more cortisol coursing through their veins.  Too much of it can up your risk for heart disease, weight gain, and other issues.

The crazy part is it was even true for people who'd already RETIRED.  And they think it's because workweek stress is just so ingrained in us.

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - Orange Chicken is an American Chinese dish of fried chicken in a sweet orange-flavored chili sauce glaze.

Yum!
Yum!

Panda Express claims it created it in 1987.

Close to General Tso's Chicken, you won't find either in China.

In The Big Bang Theory, it is Sheldon's favorite Chinese food.
