Many jobs are forcing people back to the office . . . and now, schools may be forcing kids back into the classroom. No matter what.
A school district in Tennessee announced that doctor's notes would no longer excuse a child's absence. The Lawrence County School System said the stricter policy is to improve the district's attendance rate.
Kids will just be marked present or absent . . . and there are punishments for absence, sick or not. After three no-shows, schools will start an intervention. If a kid misses eight or more days, they'll be referred to juvenile court for truancy.
If a child goes to school sick . . . can't make it through . . . and the school nurse sends them home, that child will be marked as "tardy."
He says, "If you have the sniffles, that's fine. You are going to have them when you go to work one day. We have all gone to work sick, and hurt, and beat up."
The district didn't just send notices out to all the parents . . . they also notified "local medical providers," and encouraged them to emphasize the importance of regular school attendance while treating children.
Some parents are upset about the rule. One said, "Ultimately, I'm going to do what is right for my kid regardless of this policy."
Just watch the number of illnesses running rampent in these schools. If your kid is sick...keep them home! Because...remember, if your kid comes home sick from another kid...you will get sick and have to miss work.
BAD IDEA!

In a new poll, people were asked if they considered most Americans to be optimists or pessimists. 46% said it's probably an even split. 24% said most people are pessimists . . . and just 14% said most people are optimists.
When asked how they'd characterize themselves, a whopping 59% said they’re optimists. Only 23% admitted they're more of a pessimist.
35% of people said they're getting more optimistic as time goes by. 31% said they might be becoming more pessimistic as they get older. And 22% said their outlook hasn't changed.
When you break it down, older folks are more likely to consider themselves optimistic than younger adults. Men are more likely to be optimists than women. And optimists are more likely to live in the South and West . . . while pessimists are more common in the Northeast and Midwest.

Here's a new product from Japan..Upright napping capsules.
It's the Giraffenap, a specially designed capsule that allows sleepy workers to remain upright while catching a few Zs.

According to research, sleeping upright can allow you to enter a stage of sleep that provides a lot of the health benefits of napping without making you groggy upon awakening.
It provides support to the upper body, buttocks, knees, and feet to let nappers feel secure and supported while they doze off.
They are designed for offices.

Have you been to a wedding this summer? Have you been to one where they cut costs?
One disgruntled wedding guest took to Reddit’s r/weddingshaming subreddit to complain about a “disaster of a wedding” they recently attended.
“From start to not-even-finish because I left early, it was a mess,” wrote the OP. They explained that the wedding invite only disclosed the location and time — no other information, not even a dress code.
it was an outdoor wedding on a humid 95-degree and sunny afternoon (thought it was indoor because I looked up the venue). People were in shorts, tees, and slip-ons, and others were in floor-length gowns. One lady was in a full white dress.”
“At this point, I am drowning in my own sweat, and all I want is water. I’m not paying attention to the people in front of me because I’m busy trying to fight off flies. My turn in line and I ask for water. ‘You got it, $2,'” the original poster shared.
“I look up and I see the sign. No free beverages, period. Not even water. I take a second to internalize and pull out my card. The man says, ‘Oh I’m so sorry, we operate with cash-only.'”
Once dessert came out, “There are no plates, napkins, forks, nothing. The buffet equipment has been cleared. So I watched as people walked around holding dessert in their hands.”
Comment - “This wasn’t a wedding. It was a survival challenge.”
At this point..If it was me, I would have walked to the gift table and taken mine back and left.

Influencer Michelle Sky Hayward is recovering from a swim she'd rather forget!
She was swimming in the ocean near Cape Town, South Africa.
“I’m having so much fun I literally don’t even feel the cold,” she said to the camera, as a fan’s comment across the screen read, “I hope she knows that foam is from a nearby sewer pipe.”
(Yes..the foam could have been Raw Sewage!!)
Hayward then screamed and laughed after some water went into her mouth.
“That is salty,” she said.
As the comments appeared, Hayward covered her mouth with her hand and widened her eyes in shock before bringing the camera closer to her face.
“I fear I have made a terrible mistake.

I've been seeing ads for the foldable smartphone again.
According to a CNET survey, 64% of respondents say they aren't willing or interested in buying a foldable smartphone in the next year, while just 13% say they are. Another 20% aren't sure if they want a foldable, and only 3% say they already own one.
Some of the biggest issues preventing people from buying a foldable smartphone are high prices (36%), durability concerns (31%), not understanding the advantages over a regular phone (31%) and a perceived lack of practicality (26%). Also, 15% of people say foldables are too bulky, 10% said their preferred brand doesn't make a foldable yet and 8% are concerned about subpar camera quality.

The English village of Norfolk turned slow-motion into a sport last weekend, inviting snails from around the world to "slug" it out in the annual World Snail Racing Championships.
This year's slimy superstar was "Bilbo Sluggins," inching his way to victory. His handler, Shell Rowe, didn't own him. She rented the little racer for the competition.
Rowe took home a trophy stuffed with lettuce leaves, a victory snack fit for a champion.

24% start thinking about their dog as soon as they walk out the door. (who has the separation anxiety???)
