Jaws is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary. It was released June 20th 1975 and helped usher in the big summer blockbuster. It was the highest-grossing film of all time until the release of Star Wars two years later.

Steven Spielberg admits he was let down when he wasn't nominated for Best Director for "Jaws".  But only because everyone kept telling him it was going to happen.

Quote, "I just understood, 'I guess I'm getting nominated.'  So when I wasn't, I was surprised.  And I was disappointed.  Because I was believing the noise, and you have to not believe that stuff."

"Jaws" was nominated for Best Picture, but it lost to "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest".  And Spielberg approves of that decision.

Quote, "I would've [voted for] 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' for Best Picture over 'Jaws'.  I would've done that."

A recent poll determined the most popular sharks in the media, and Bruce from "Jaws" did NOT come in first.  Here's the Top 5:

1.  Bruce from "Finding Nemo"  (2003) (yes it's an homage to...)

2.  Bruce from "Jaws"  (1975)

3.  Lenny from "Shark Tale"  (2004)

4.  King Shark from "The Suicide Squad"  (2021)

5.  Destiny from "Finding Dory"  (2016)

(what…no Left Shark???)

Some stress-relieving hacks involve taking care of things NOW, so you don't have to worry about doing them in the future.

Someone on social media asked, "What is your 'I do this now, so FUTURE ME doesn't suffer' habit?"  Here are some highlights:

"Cleaning up my home on Thursday, so when I come home from work on Friday evening I can immediately start to relax and enjoy the weekend."

"Doing my dishes right after eating."

"Getting my clothes ready the night before for the next morning."

"Going to the gym and doing mobility exercises . . . for middle-aged me."

"Flossing my teeth."

"Getting gas after work, instead of before."

"Saving money," and "investing in the stock market or retirement accounts."

"Preparing the coffee maker the night before."

"Getting ahead on work for next week."

"Writing everything down right away so future me isn't stuck trying to remember what past me forgot."

"Pulling my socks (should add shirts here too) off so that they are NOT inside out.  It makes folding laundry that much quicker."

"Treating my children well."  (For when they need to take care of YOU.)

"Wiping down the shower glass after every use."

And there's always one - "Nah man. *&% that tomorrow me guy."
