Food Network chef Anne Burrell has died. She was 55.
A fan-favorite on the Food Network, Burrell was best known as the longtime host of Worst Cooks in America, where her passion for food and mentorship turned disastrous kitchen hopefuls into capable cooks.
Besides many other Food Network shows she authored two cookbooks: 2011's Cook Like a Rock Star, which made her a New York Times bestseller, and Own Your Kitchen: Recipes to Inspire and Empower.

A new poll looked at the top things that can immediately drain your social battery. Meaning, everyday interactions that make you feel like, "Okay, that's enough for today. Everyone sucks."
According to a survey of 2,000 Americans, here are the Top 10 little things that can push us over the edge.
1. Being interrupted or talked over.
2. Too much awkward small talk.
3. Dealing with customer service on the phone.
4. Talking to a stranger. Like, maybe you get caught in a conversation with someone you don't know . . . and don't care to know . . . but they're a talker.
5. Unsolicited advice.
6. Office gossip.
7. Group video calls. Especially if it's a work call.
8. A coworker overshares, or gets too personal about something.
9. When someone wants to show you something on their phone.
10. Any sort of networking event.
The poll also found 11:54 A.M. is when the average person starts feeling drained for the day.

"Vox" just did a big article on how the hummingbird feeder in your yard might be poisoning them. The "too long, didn't read" version is that you're probably not cleaning it enough.
Whether you make their food or buy it, it's basically just sugar water. And sugar water SPOILS faster than you'd think, especially in hot weather.
If you don't clean their feeder and replace the liquid, they can end up with bacterial or fungal infections that can kill them.
A study in 2019 found most of the microbes aren't deadly enough to cause huge declines in hummingbird populations, but it happens. One expert said it's "fairly common" for dirty feeders to at least make them sick.
So how often should you be cleaning your feeder? Ideally, every day or two.
Quote, "If you wouldn't leave your drink sitting out in the sun for three days and then drink it, don't do it for hummingbirds."
If you replace the liquid every few days, you can just rinse your feeder with hot water. But if it's been a while, you should deep clean it with water and vinegar, or hydrogen peroxide.

A new study found working too many hours a week literally changes the structure of your brain.
Researchers scanned the brains of 110 healthcare workers and split them into two categories: overworked and not overworked. They defined "overworked" as 52 hours a week or more.
They found that working that much can cause "significant changes" in parts of the brain associated with executive function and emotional regulation.
It can mess with your decision-making skills . . . cause you to get emotional, or fly off the handle a lot . . . and also affect memory and attention span.

Some of us have THAT neighbor.
A 72-year-old man in Florida named Samuel Thomas was arrested after calling 911 on his neighbors. He claimed someone was "shooting an AR-15 rifle in the roadway," but when the cops showed up, they only saw a family barbecue happening at that residence, "with small children at play."
Several other neighbors reported that no shooting had taken place.
The neighbor said that Samuel has called 911 on them "hundreds of times" . . . and "frequently stops in front of their residence to yell obscenities at her and her family." And he does seem to be a nuisance.
According to police records, Samuel has made 3,400 calls to 911 this year alone, and 16,000 calls within the last five years.
It's unclear what all that complaining was about, but 647 of the 3,400 calls this year were targeted at the neighbor having the barbecue. He's accused them of narcotics sales, firearms usage, disorderly conduct, and suspicious activity.
Samuel was arrested for stalking and filing a false report. He was also charged with resisting arrest for tussling with the officers when they tried to handcuff him.
Police say there was no evidence of any mental health issues . . . he's just a 911 abuser.
Samuel's rap sheet includes multiple battery convictions, DUI, pot possession, disorderly intoxication, passing bad checks, violating probation, and failure to return rented merchandise.
He has not previously been busted for misusing the 911 system.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Wombat poop is cube-shaped. Scientists think it helps keep their droppings from rolling away, which wombats use to mark their territory.

Ok...The expel nearly 100 every day, but don't worry, they are built for it.
