For the first time ever over the weekend, parts of Alaska were under a heat advisory, with an asterisk.

It’s not the first instance of unusually high temperatures in what many consider the nation’s coldest state, but the National Weather Service only recently allowed for heat advisories to be issued there. Information on similarly warm weather conditions previously came in the form of “special weather statements.”

The first advisory is for Sunday in Fairbanks, where temperatures are expected to top 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Fairbanks has has been warmer in the past, but this is unusual for June.

Netflix has an animated "Stranger Things" spin-off in the works, and they dropped some details yesterday.

It's called "Stranger Things: Tales from '85", and it takes place in the winter between Seasons 2 and 3 of the O.G. series.

It'll feature the original characters, plus a new one:  Nikki, a tough girl with a mohawk.  The kids will, quote, "fight new monsters and unravel a paranormal mystery terrorizing their town."

It won't be out until next year.

The fifth and final season of the live-action "Stranger Things" is being released in three parts later this year, between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve.

The term "OFFICE CHAIR BUTT" is trending, and there's a good chance you already have it.  But don't worry, it's reversible.

"Office chair butt" is when you've got a flat, saggy, unimpressive backside because you sit too much at work. Even if you have the best office chair in the world, too much sitting can cause your butt muscles to atrophy over time.

Just standing up and moving throughout the day can help a lot though.  Here are a few easy ways to avoid office chair butt . . .

1.  Pace around when you're on a phone call. Inside or outside, up and down a hall, or just in a circle. It doesn't matter as long as you're moving.

2.  Put something you need regular access to a few feet from your desk.  Like if you use your printer a lot, don't have it within arm's length.

3.  Choose a bathroom that's a little farther away. Maybe even one on a different floor, and take the stairs.

4.  Stand up and do some butt clenches several times a day. You could also try toe lifts, or just march in place while reading emails.

5.  Walk to a coworker's desk instead of calling or sending an email. A little face-to-face contact is good for your mental health, and your butt.

Anything that gets you up and moving is good. You just don't want to spend eight straight hours a day sitting, or your butt might disappear.

A study found drinking sugar is worse than eating it because of how our body processes food versus liquids.  Even if it's the same amount of sugar, soda is more likely to give you diabetes than candy bars.

The killer asteroid that will miss us in 2032 could still hit the Moon, and the odds just went up again.  There's now a 4.3% chance of lunar impact.  But even if it happens, it's not big enough to alter the Moon's orbit.

OpenAI's Sam Altman claims we've hit the tipping point with A.I., and that the hard or "least-likely" part is done.  He predicted we'll see the first A.I. with "novel insights" next year, meaning new ideas we haven't thought of yet.  And by 2027, we might have "robots that can do tasks in the real world."

This stat is fun too:  He revealed how much energy ChatGPT uses each time you ask it something . . . 0.34 watt-hours, or enough to power an oven for just over a second.  It also uses one-15th of a teaspoon of water.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - There were only 25 episodes of the original "Scooby-Doo" show, which debuted on CBS in 1969. 16 more were added in 1978 (for a total of 41), and there's been a steady stream of reboots and spin-offs ever since. (the original doesn’t have Scrappy-Do…hate him)

Interesting to note, The Jetsons only had 24 original episodes. It wasn't until 1985 that there were 51 new episodes released to syndication. (if Orbitty is around..he's in the newer ones..booo)
