Brian Wilson, the co-founder and primary songwriter of the Beach Boys, has died at 82.
He also produced Jan and Dean, the Castellas, Donna Loren, Sharon Marie, and others.
The Beach Boys officially released 29 studio albums, 11 live albums, and 75 singles. Wilson and the band were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. As a solo artist, Wilson won two Grammy Awards (out of nine nominations), and the Beach Boys were honored in 2001 with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
This was their first Top Ten single.
This has always been my favorite. (Didn't know it had a video)

Some newspapers around the country, including the Chicago Sun-Times and at least one edition of The Philadelphia Inquirer, have published a syndicated summer book list that includes made-up books by famous authors.
Only five of the 15 titles on the list are real.
Yes, Isabel Allende and Percival Everett are actual writers, but the books that were on the list don't exist!
Writer Marco Buscaglia has claimed responsibility for it and says it was partly generated by Artificial Intelligence, and says, "Huge mistake on my part and has nothing to do with the Sun-Times. They trust that the content they purchase is accurate and I betrayed that trust. It's on me 100 percent."
What’s on your summer reading list?

Do you think your boss actually understands what you do in a typical day? Almost half of people say no.
46% of people in a new poll said their boss or manager "rarely" or only "somewhat" understands their contributions at work.
44% of employees say they've been overlooked for raises, promotions, or special projects because management doesn't really get their skillsets. That jumps to 62% for Gen Z'ers.
48% think their contributions are consistently undervalued by leadership.
And 43% say they get feedback from their boss that doesn't really line up with the work they've done.

A family in France found out that a small sculpture they'd been keeping next to their family photos was worth a small fortune.
They thought it was a reproduction of a Rodin. But it was the real deal. It's from the early 1890s and just sold at auction for $984,000.

Today's weird TikTok hack:
Leave a sturdy, wooden spatula in your bedroom to help make your bed.
It's for people who don't have a ton of arm strength, or don't want to throw their back out trying to lift their mattress and tuck the sheet underneath. Just use the spatula to push the sheet under; no lift necessary.
Someone in the comments shared another trick you might want to try. Quote, "My hack is I just don't make my bed."

Match just released its 14th Annual "Singles in America" report. And the most interesting stats are about how many people are using A.I.
One in four singles are now using it to help with dating, up 333% from last year.
That includes help with things like your profile, sending messages, or screening for compatibility. 26% said they've done it, including HALF of Gen Z'ers.
16% or one in six overall said they've even "interacted with A.I. as a (their term) "romantic companion" before.
The example listed in the poll was using A.I. for the type of "companionship or emotional support" you'd normally get from a "romantic partner." So yes . . . we're talking about robot boyfriends and girlfriends, at least short-term ones.
A third of Gen Z'ers and a quarter of Millennials said they've used A.I. like that. This is relevant even if you're already coupled up: 40% said having an A.I. boyfriend or girlfriend does count as cheating in 2025.

"BOIL in a bag" funerals could be set to become available in the UK - as a controversial method criticized as disrespectful.
The alternative method, which is already available in other countries, works to dissolve bodies with heat and chemicals and flush them down the drain, with the bone remains ground to ash.
(at least it could get another name)

TikTok creators can be really weird. There is one that sparked viral backlash after posting a video of herself dunking raw cookie dough into a bowl of iced strawberry milk, and eating it.
Some say the video goes too far, and response posts now outnumber the original, with many pleading for her to stop.
People expressed that they’re sickened by the gluttony and greed, and generally confused by the use of strawberry milk as a dunking medium.
Best response though - “The cookie dough won’t even soak up that milk either… BUT BAKED COOKIES WOULD,”

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Diet Pepsi isn't vegan . . . but Pepsi won't say what animal ingredient it uses that keeps it from being vegan because that's, quote, "commercially sensitive information."
(wait..don’t they have to disclose thats????)
