Fish Fingers and Custard Day - 2010 Matt Smith became the new Doctor Who, the 11th Doctor, and was trying to figure out what food he liked. He settled on Fish Fingers and Custard.
You might say ick..but custard in the UK is not like our pudding. It's a rich, creamy, and pourable sauce made by heating milk (or cream) with sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla, often thickened with a small amount of cornflour.
Today marks the first-ever Jane Goodall Day, announced by the Jane Goodall Institute's global network of chapters to honor the legendary primatologist and conservationist on what would have been her 92nd birthday. The commemorative day will take place every April 3rd, encouraging people around the world to celebrate the global icon by continuing her tradition of turning hope into tangible action.
Dr. Jane Goodall, who passed away on October 1st, 2025, inspired millions throughout her remarkable lifetime. "Jane taught us that our lives make a difference, and her legacy continues to inspire us—which is why we are celebrating our first Jane Goodall Day on April 3rd," said Bella Lam, CEO of the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada.

The NCAA March Madness final four is all set for this weekend.
The Women play tonight, UConn and South Carolina & UCLA and Texas play to find out who will be in the final Sunday.
For the Men - Saturday, UConn and Illinois & Arizona and Michigan play to find out who will be in the final Monday night.
This weekend will also have the NCAA March Madness Music Festival.
21 Pilots, Zach Brown, and Ravyn Lenae are among the performers Friday-Sunday.

What are the astronauts aboard the Orion spacecraft eating?
There are 189 unique menu items on offer to NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen, which include more than 10 types of beverages and five different hot sauces. Yes, turns out hot sauce is just as important in space as it is here on Earth.
The most common food and drink items include:

Breakfast sausage
Couscous with nuts

The menu has been carefully curated by NASA experts to support crew health and performance during the mission around the Moon, while also considering shelf life, food safety, nutritional value, crew preferences, and compatibility with Orion’s mass, volume, and power requirements.
Each astronaut is allotted two flavored beverages per day, which may include coffee. This is limited due to upmass constraints, which restrict how much food and drink can be carried on board.
Fresh foods will not be on board as Orion does not have the required refrigeration.
Shelf-stable foods help manage food safety and quality throughout the intended shelf life in a compact, self-contained spacecraft, while also reducing the risk of crumbs or particulates in microgravity.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Today in 1973, Motorola engineer Martin Cooper made the first-ever public mobile phone call while walking down a street in New York City.
Cooper didn't call his wife or his boss. He called his chief rival at Bell Labs, Joel Engel, to brag that he had beaten them to the technology. He famously said, "Joel, I'm calling you from a 'real' cellular telephone."
The phone was a prototype of the Motorola DynaTAC. It weighed 2.5 pounds (that's 1133.981 grams), took 10 hours to charge, and only offered 20 minutes of talk time before the battery died.
