Google looked at the top Easter candies we've been searching for in the lead-up to Easter Sunday.  And it's PEEPS in most states . . . but that doesn't mean they're our favorite.

35 states have googled Peeps more than any other Easter candy this month.  Gummy candies are next with five states.  No other type of candy got more than two.

Peeps ranked sixth with 7% of the vote.

Instacart did a list earlier this month of the most-purchased Easter candies, and Peeps didn't even crack the Top 10.

And a new survey from this week ALSO found Peeps aren't our favorite.

1.  Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs, with 26% of the vote.  They also topped Instacart's most-purchased list.

2.  Chocolate Easter bunnies, 13%.

3.  Cadbury Creme Eggs, also 13%.

4.  Jelly beans, 12%.

5.  Robin Eggs, 9%.  They're just Easter-themed Whoppers.

62% of adults would like to get their own Easter basket.  80% of parents admit to stealing candy from their kids each year.  But the top thing we'd want in our own Easter basket isn't candy . . . it's gift cards.

Google Trends looked at the top Easter basket theme searches by state.

PA - Dinosaur

NY - Minecraft

Sonic, Hello Kitty, Bluey, Paw Patrol, Pokemon, Stitch, Spiderman, and Baseball all made the list

We'll spend $24 BILLION on Easter in 2025.  When you factor in everything like eggs, candy, gifts, and clothes, the average spend is $189.

One of those things is the Chocolate Bunny. Where do you start when you eat one?  77% start with the ears . . . 16% go feet-first . . . and 6% start with the butt.

(If it has little candy eyes, those are gnawed off first so it can't see what else is coming)

There's a hot dog place in Westport, Massachusetts called Lexi's Road Dogs.  And the owner's dad posted a photo on their Facebook page that's going viral.

It's a hot dog with five yellow Peeps as the BUN.

They should add it, because more than a few people are into the idea.

A guy didn't add any toppings and gave it a 9.1 out of 10.

You’ve had the last of your lenten Friday Fish Frys and Coleslaw made an AskReddit list of foods with the Widest Swings between being delicious and disgusting, it just has to be made right! (which could be said for many on this list.)

Others in the thread:

Mac and cheese . . . "Trying too hard can be worse than not trying at all."

Watermelon . . . "Some are amazing, and some have zero flavor."

Salmon . . . "It can be my favorite food, or nauseate me through smell alone."  (Others say all fish, seafood, and sushi could be added to the list.)

Peaches . . . "Delicious and wonderful, or a woody, mealy disappointment."

Tomatoes . . . "Crisp and refreshing.  Or bland, mushy, and stringy."

Apples . . . "Some types are legit delicious, and then there's 'Red Delicious.'"

Chicken breast . . . "It's so easy to make it dry."

Nachos (or poutine) . . . "Absolutely amazing, or a flavorless, soggy mass."

Brussels sprouts . . . "Boiled or steamed they are disgusting.  Roasted Brussels sprouts are amazing.  They taste like a totally different vegetable."

Scrambled eggs . . . "There's five seconds between prime and a dry disaster."

French fries . . . "Don't ever put your fries in a closed box."

Katy Perry, Gayle King, and Lauren Sanchez went to space this week, and then got ridiculed for it.  But would YOU go if you had the money?

Most Americans in a new poll said NO, they wouldn't go to space even if money was no object.  Only around a third of us would do it.  31% said yes . . . 55% said no way . . . and 14% said maybe.

People who wouldn't go think it's either too risky, too bad for the environment, or they're just not interested.

Some of us are more willing to go than others though, especially men and young people:  39% of men would go up, compared to 23% of women.  And half of people in their 20s said yes, compared to just 19% of seniors.

Whether you'd go or not, most agree a flight like the Blue Origin one this week does NOT make you an "astronaut" though.

Only 10% of Americans think Katy Perry can call herself an astronaut now.

In a related note"

As quickly as it began, Wendy's has ended its beef with Katy Perry.

People seemed to love when Wendy's replied "Can we send her back?" to a photo of Katy upon her return from space.

But someone in Katy's camp called it "disrespectful", "blatantly inappropriate," and, quote, "a billion-dollar brand using its platform to publicly demean a woman."

So Wendy's issued a statement saying, quote, "We always bring a little spice to our socials, but Wendy's has a ton of respect for Katy Perry and her out-of-this-world-talent."
