It seems that sitting up straight is not good for your back, say researchers from Scotland and Canada. They found it strains your back unnecessarily. Ideally, you should lean slightly back, at an angle of about 135 degrees.

The volunteers were asked to sit in three different positions:
1. Slouching. The person hunches forward, with feet touching the floor.
2. Upright, at 90 degrees, with feet touching the floor.
3. Relaxed, reclined backwards at 135 degrees, with feet touching the floor.
Measurements of spinal angles, spinal disk height, and movements were taken. When undue strain is placed on a disk, it moves – often out of place. The researchers found that the upright position, at 90 degrees, caused disks to move the most, while the relaxed position (135 degrees) caused disks to move the least.

A shelter in Michigan is making headlines for turning a nuisance into a fundraiser. They are spinning real cat hair from their adoptable residents into high-end sweaters dubbed "Cataire." They are currently auctioning the pieces on eBay to cover medical costs for the shelter animals.
Now you can be allergic to your own sweater!

Some fishermen in Russia accidentally blew up their car. They were carrying dynamite they planned to use to help them catch fish by illegally dropping it into a lake. Luckily, the dumb fishermen weren’t in the car when it blew up.

A major lifestyle trend hitting festivals this spring is "Bio-Glitter." * The Tech: Traditional glitter is a microplastic nightmare. The 2026 version is lab-grown from cellulose (wood pulp) and uses "structural color" (like a butterfly wing) rather than chemical dyes.
The Benefit: It is 100% biodegradable in water within 28 days, allowing for high-fashion "sparkle" without the environmental guilt.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Research has suggested that cows have regional accents. Much like humans, cows in different parts of the world (and even different parts of the same country) have slightly different vocalizations and "dialects" within their herds.
