We are always saying Gen X, Boomers, Millenials, and the new one is.......Gen Beta.
January 1st marked the start of "Gen BETA" . . . people born between 2025 and 2039 . . . and not everyone's wild about the name.
It of course follows Gen Alpha.
Beta is the second letter of the Greek alphabet (and it looks like we are just doing that now for the names with Gamma and Delta next.)
But...it's also slang for someone who's passive or weak, especially men, the opposite of an "alpha male."
Some people don't love the idea of their kid being called a "Beta" their whole life. Gen Alpha uses it as an insult a lot, so it's like we're teeing it up to be the next "OK Boomer."
It's not to late to change it, one idea that's been tossed around is "Generation A.I.", because they'll never know a world without it.

Interesting ageist thoughts coming from the Oscars.
Best Actor most often goes to an older Hollywood veteran, while the Best Actress tends to be the, quote, "young ingenue."
This year Adrian Brody won and he's 51, Actress went to Mikey Madison who's 25.
The best actor honor has been won 31 times by men in their 30s . . . 35 times by men in their 40s . . . 15 times by men in their 50s . . . and six times by men in their 60s.
Meanwhile, the youngest Best Actress winner was 21-year-old Marlee Matlin, for "Children of a Lesser God".
She's among 33 women who've won Best Actress in their 20s. It's gone to women in their 30s 35 times . . . then 15 times to women in their 40s.
Only THREE women in their 50s have won Best Actress . . . then nine women in their 60s.

A 32-year-old man from Texas named Jaythan Gilder attempted to steal $1.3 MILLION worth of diamond jewelry from a Tiffany & Co. in Orlando last month.
On his way out, he got into a scuffle with employees, and dropped a ring . . . but he got away with two sets of diamond earrings worth $610,000 and $160,000.
He jumped into his SUV, and TRIED to drive all the way back to Texas, but the police tracked him down a few hours later. But before they took him into custody, Jaythan SWALLOWED the two sets of earrings.
That didn't fool anybody. It just made things messier for the cops, who scanned his body . . . saw the "foreign objects" . . . and notified him that they'd have to be "collected, after passing through his system."
He even asked jail staff, quote, "Am I going to be charged with what's in my stomach?" Yes, dude. You will.
People might be avoiding this store for awhile as to not get "gut rings"

The world's first -- and possibly only -- orchestra to exclusively make music from vegetable instruments was awarded a Guinness World Record after playing 344 concerts over the course of 27 years.
The 11-piece Vegetable Orchestra formed in Vienna, Austria, in 1999, when musicians of various backgrounds came together with the idea of carving veggies into instruments.
"It all started as a joke," founding member Matthias Meinharter told the BBC in 2019.
The performers have now perfected the art of playing with their food. Their instruments include carrots carved into recorders and leeks into mandolins.
The musicians said they carve fresh vegetables before every performance, as their instruments only last for about 6 hours before starting to rot or losing their shape.
The orchestra told Guinness World Records that only one subject is off-limits during their concerts: asking whether the musicians are vegetarians.
"No we are not. Don't ask again," they said. "We've heard this question 3 million times."

A unique job opportunity at Loch Ness has come up as a "full-time Nessie hunter" is needed. The Loch Ness Centre is a state-of-the-art visitor attraction and research centre based in the village of Drumnadrochit.
The job will begin on March 31 and end on November 2. There are two vacancies, both of which pay a salary of about $230 per day.
The roles will involve operating Loch Ness Centre's Deepscan vessel, which takes visitors on a journey through the past 40 years of scientific research into the mysteries of Loch Ness.

With soaring egg prices, CHICKEN RENTALS could become a thing. One service provides hens, feed, and support . . . allowing customers to collect fresh eggs at home. For about $600 for a six-month rental, customers can expect around a dozen eggs per week from two hens.
If my math is correct, that's about $2 an egg...they aren't quite that expensive yet.

How does your ZODIAC SIGN affect tax season? According to one report, Capricorns are most likely to file EARLY . . . Virgos and Scorpios are most likely to file late . . . an Aries is most likely to accidentally fill something out wrong . . . and an Aquarius is most likely to forget when Tax Day is.

Candy sales topped $54 billion in the U.S. last year. That's $28 billion in chocolate . . . $22 billion in non-chocolates . . . and $4 billion in gum.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Disney decided not to make Giselle from "Enchanted" one of the Disney princesses because they didn't want to have to pay for lifelong rights to Amy Adams' image.
