How long does a vinyl record really last? Some say a few plays are enough to wear it down, while others claim thousands are possible with the right care. Then there’s the long-running fear that cheap turntables, especially those with ceramic cartridges, destroy records. Plenty of collectors swear budget players will grind grooves into dust in no time.
Manufacturers and audio experts have made widely different claims about the number of times a vinyl record can be played before showing noticeable wear.
Some say between 10 and 25 times, while others have claimed that records can endure 5,000 plays while still sounding brand new.
Surprisingly, the records played 50 times sounded virtually identical to the control record.
Stylus quality and condition
Too much pressure or to little pressure
Turntable leveling
Dust and dirt buildup
Storage and handling are important too.
Vertically story
low-humidity environment
Avoid repeat plays in quick succession

Yesterday was Frozen Food Day
But..don't freeze these foods.
Milk. It separates when thawed. Same goes for cream-based soups.
Soft cheeses. Things like cream cheese and ricotta separate just like milk. Same goes for yogurt.
Pasta salads with mayonnaise. Again, it separates.
Cooked pasta. It gets gummy and mushy.
Raw potatoes. Cooked potatoes freeze well, just not raw ones.
Fried foods. They'll end up soggy and gross.
Coffee beans. Lots of people do it, but freezing coffee messes with the flavor. It can absorb odors from other stuff in there.
Fresh herbs. It wrecks the flavor and texture.
Cucumbers. They get mushy and slimy because they're mostly water.
Eggs in the shell. The inside expands and cracks the shell. If you need to freeze eggs whisk them first.

Hasbro has announced a new version of "Monopoly" called "Monopoly: App Banking", which makes the game a little more digital.
The board game elements are mostly the same, with a few, kid-friendly tweaks: Park Place and Boardwalk have been switched to a Rocket Launch Pad and the Moon. And other new properties include a chocolate factory . . . a VR roller coaster . . . and a dinosaur park.
The main difference is that there's no banker, and no physical money. Instead, there's a mobile app that processes all the transactions.
Hasbro says the app is great for speeding up the game . . . making it more accessible to younger players . . . and making it harder to cheat.
But, naturally, some people don't like it.
A common complaint is that the new version can't be used to teach kids about math, and how to handle money. And some parents are pretending like their kids don't have access to a device with apps.
Don't worry..regular Monoploly isn't going anywhere.

A couple took to TikTok to complain about their cabin they booked for a vacation in Gatlinburg Tennessee.
"We just checked into our cabin, and we are leaving our cabin." And then he says, "It's way too slopey."
She then proceeds to turn the camera around and say, quote, "Let me show you what we’re dealing with." And then she shows a driveway. Which is indeed "slopey", but it's in the Great Smoky Mountains. What were they expecting....from a Mountain Cabin!!
That's what they rented..a Mountain Cabin.
Later in the video the girl complained, "The whole mountain that we have to drive through is very uphill."
Needless to say, the Internet let them have it. Here were some of the best comments:
"How dare the mountains be mountains lol."
"Last year I went to the beach, and left after seeing all that sand and water."

Joey Potter's house from "Dawson's Creek" is being auctioned off, and the starting bid was a mere $29,000. As of last night, the bidding had only risen to $30,000. So it sounds like it's gonna go for cheap.
Too good to be true? Well . . .
The house is in Wilmington, North Carolina, but if you buy it, you can't move into it right away. First you have to MOVE IT. And yes, that means THE WHOLE HOUSE.
This is a personal property auction, meaning that the house itself is for sale, but the land it's on isn't. It has to be moved, and the buyer is responsible for all costs associated with its relocation.
Might actually be cheaper to get the blueprints and rebuild a replica.

A new poll found 72% of Americans don't feel like they have enough privacy in public bathroom stalls, because someone could peek in through those gaps in the door at any moment.
53% of people say we should eliminate the gaps in bathroom stall doors. 45% also prefer it when the door goes all the way to the ground.
Here are two more things people in the survey asked for . . .
86% wish bathrooms in high-traffic areas had a display outside that showed how many stalls were open. So, kind of the way parking garages do it.
47% would also add timers to the top of each stall, so you could see how long someone has been in there and then SHAME them for it.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in D.C. was designed by a 21-year-old architecture student at Yale named Maya Lin. Her professor had given her a "B" for the design, and he also submitted his own design proposal . . . which obviously lost.
