A new poll on the "State of Tipping in the U.S." looked at why we tip . . . how much we tip . . . and how disgruntled we are about it.

Here are a few quick stats on America's tipping habits in 2025 . . .

The average tip is now 18.9%. Men tip a little more, 19.1%. Women a little less, 18.6%.

Millennials are the biggest tippers at 19.5%. Gen Z is next at 19.3 . . . Gen X, 18.2 . . . and Boomers, 16.4%.

The highest-tipping state is Delaware at just over 21%.

Only three other states tip more than 20%: Indiana, West Virginia, and New Hampshire.

California leaves the worst tips at around 17%. But servers in California make $16.50 an hour compared to $2.23 in Delaware.

79% of us always or usually leave a tip at sit-down places. 63% said the same about fast-food joints . . . 55% usually tip delivery drivers . . . and 23% even tip when picking up takeout.

Has tipping gotten out of control in the past five years?  71% say yes, it's "expected too often, and the suggested tips are too high." Only 9% think the current state of tipping is ideal.

7% of Americans never tip. You could be the best waiter in the world.  They're still drawing a line on that receipt.

I’m sad this is satire. I’m gonna post it anyway!

A 102-year-old woman was arrested this week after authorities uncovered a fully operational underground Little Caesars running out of her basement. Investigators say she had been selling $5 Hot-N-Readies to a steady stream of customers, some of whom claimed her pizzas were "better than the real thing." Police were tipped off after several nearby locations reported a sudden drop in sales, and a DoorDash driver attempted to pick up an order from "Grandma C’s Pizza Basement" listed on the app. Officers raided the home and found stacks of pizza boxes, an industrial oven, and a handwritten sign that read “Two for $8 – Cash Only.” When confronted, she reportedly told police, "I’ve been making pizza longer than they’ve been alive. What do they know?" She is facing multiple charges, including bootleg pizza distribution and unauthorized use of a Caesar mascot, but allegedly asked officers if they wanted a "fresh one for the road.

Forget the stars, cards and your horoscope.

The telling of the future through reading cheese, aka tyromancy, might just give you some handy clues about where you’re headed.

Jennifer Billock who practices tyromancy says “Cheese has always had a role in magical practices dating back to ancient Greece and Rome,” she said. “Both Greeks and the Romans included cheese in their offerings to deities.”

You pick out wedges of cheese and send her a photo.

By the way blue cheese is the best.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - This Thursday is the first day of baseball with 14 games.

The first Wrigley Field wasn't in Chicago. A baseball park in Los Angeles called Wrigley Field opened in 1925. The Cubs' stadium was called Cubs Park at that point, but changed its name to Wrigley Field in 1926 as the chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Jr acquired the cubs in 1921. The L.A. one was torn down in 1969.
