45 Years Ago - 1977 The Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack was released.
It's the second biggest-selling soundtrack of all time only behind The Bodyguard Soundtrack.
(wait for that in a couple of days)
It was #1 for 24 weeks and won the Grammy for Album of the Year.
The album was almost a Bee Gees record with hits galore!
"How Deep Is Your Love" won Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Group Grammy in 1978(#1 Hot 100 and AC), "Stayin' Alive" won Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group and Best Arrangement of Voices Grammys in 1979 (#1 #28 AC #3 Club #4 R&B), "More Than a Woman" (#39 AC), "If I Can't Have You" by Yvonne Elliman (and the Bee Gees version as the B-side of Stayin' Alive) (#1 #9 AC #60 R&B), "Night Fever" (#1 #3 Club #8 R&B #19 AC), and "Boogie Shoes" by KC and the Sunshine Band (a b-side in 1975) (#35 #29 R&B).
Previous Bee Gees songs "Jive Talkin'" and "You Should be Dancing" were on the soundtrack, along with previous singles "A Fifth of Beethoven" by Walter Murphy (1976 - #1 #10 R&B), "Open Sesame" by Kool and the Gang (#5), and "Disco Inferno" by The Trammps with highest chart apperances #11 Hot 100 and #1 Club.
I have never seen this movie front to back.
