It is also Towel Day - celebrates author Douglas Adams and his best-known work, the science-fiction series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
The Guide says "A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (such a mind-bogglingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you — daft as a brush, but very very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.
More importantly, a towel has immense psychological value. For some reason, if a strag (strag: non-hitch hiker) discovers that a hitchhiker has his towel with him, he will automatically assume that he is also in possession of a toothbrush, face flannel, soap, tin of biscuits, flask, compass, map, ball of string, gnat spray, wet weather gear, space suit etc., etc. Furthermore, the strag will then happily lend the hitch hiker any of these or a dozen other items that the hitch hiker might accidentally have "lost." What the strag will think is that any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still knows where his towel is, is clearly a man to be reckoned with."

Official Old Bay-flavored Goldfish are now a thing that exists. You can find them in stores nationwide. If not now, then soon.
Pepperidge Farm owns Goldfish and partnered with the McCormick spice brand, which owns Old Bay. It's not their first collaboration. They just did a limited run of Frank's Red Hot Goldfish last year.

It used to be that when a couple got married, the woman took the man's name. Then, some women started hyphenating or just keeping their name. Then there was a modern trend of men taking women's last names. I even know a couple that created a new last name with both of theirs. But in all those cases, there was a plan ahead of time. So this is different . . .
A couple in Virginia couldn't decide which last name to use and both had reasons to keep their own name. So they decided to let the officiant flip a coin at the altar and that would determine which name they'd share.
The husband won the coin toss, and the officiant introduced the couple under his name. A clip of that moment is going viral on TikTok. The couple says the creative idea worked for them because they "flip coins a lot."

Taco Bell is pulling out all the stops to plug the return of their Mexican pizza. The "pizza" came back on May 19th, but the hype will reach peak form on May 26th when "Mexican Pizza: The Musical" airs live on TikTok.
It's a satirical musical about the "harrowing" story of those who fought to bring it back. Three of those "fighters" are Dolly Parton, Doja Cat, and a TikTok'er named Victor Kunda, and they're all in the movie.
Dolly posted a photo showing the cover of the movie script. She captioned it, "I'm making 'Mexican Pizza: The Musical' with Taco Bell."
Taco Bell's Instagram has a photo of a mock theater Playbill on a table next to a few Mexican pizzas and soft drinks.

A new study found that even taking a one-week break from social media makes us happier. Researchers asked 150 people who use it every day to stay off it for a week. And by the end, they were less stressed, less depressed, and happier overall.
The sad part is a lot of them couldn't do it. The average person still spent 21 minutes of their week on things like Facebook and TikTok. But that was seven-and-a-half hours less than a normal week for them.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - The guy who created Ultimate Frisbee was a college student named Joel Silver . . . and after school, he went on to become a huge Hollywood producer. He's the guy behind the "Lethal Weapon", "Die Hard", and "Matrix" movies.
