Tamarind might sound — and taste — unfamiliar to many, but
McCormick & Company, the top-selling maker of seasonings and spices, has named tamarind as its 2024 “Flavor of the Year.”
Tamarind comes from a tree that commonly grows throughout Africa, Mexico, Asia and India, and produces pods containing the acidic and tangy-sweet flavor that can be added to a number of foods such potato chips, ice cream and even in coffee.

Barbie has people looking for a pink hue this christmas, including the tree!
On Pinterest, the search for "pink Christmas tree" has spiked 286%.
Not surprisingly, Pantone has unveiled its color of the year for 2024: Peach Fuzz, a soft peach-beige that the company says is meant to embody "our desire to nurture ourselves and others." The hue is "a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body and soul."

Holiday party time!!! If it's a Potluck, Huff Post says - DO NOT BRING THESE THINGS!!!
1. Baked potatoes in aluminum foil. When the potatoes cool down, the moisture and steam in the foil can create a perfect environment for bacteria to grow. You can use foil to bake the potatoes just remove it before it cools down.
2. Mayo-based salads. Potato salad, egg salad, and macaroni salad are common culprits. But it isn't always the mayo itself . . . the protein or the cooked carbohydrate can make you sick too. So always keep those salads cold.
3. Fish and seafood. Not only can they spoil easily at room temperature, it's also a risk for people with allergies.
4. Nuts. It's another one that's bad for people with allergies. If a dish calls for sprinkling almonds or peanuts to finish a dish, consider leaving them off or bringing them in a separate container. If there are nuts in something you bake, make sure everyone knows.
5. Leafy green salads. The issue here is that there's a lot of opportunity for cross-contamination. Everything from cutting boards to utensils and unwashed hands used for mixing.

Holiday music is everywhere these days, and AV Club ranked 30 of the worst Christmas songs of all time. But that being said, adding any of these to your playlist might just spice up your holiday gathering.
Here are a few:
1. "The Christmas Shoes", NewSong
2. "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer", Elmo & Patsy
3. "Dear Santa (Bring Me a Man This Christmas)", The Weather Girls
4. "The Night Santa Went Crazy", Weird Al Yankovic
5. "That's Christmas to Me", Pentatonix
9. "Please, Daddy (Don't Get Drunk on Christmas)", John Denver
11. "I'm Gonna Spend My Christmas with a Dalek", The Go-Go's (NOT the '80s New Wave band.) - As a Who fan, I just listened to this the other day..it is pretty bad.)
20. "Snoopy's Christmas", The Royal Guardsmen
See (don't listen to) their full list here.

An 8-month-long space mystery has been solved.
NASA astronauts on the International Space Station finally found a stray, space-grown tomato eight months after it first went missing.
Funny thing is..they all thought Frank ate it.
After the tomato harvest last March, each astronaut was given a tomato sample in a Ziploc bag, Space.com reported. The astronauts were told not to eat the fruit since there were concerns about potential fungal contamination, according to NASA.
But when one of the astronauts, Frank Rubio, accidentally let his tomato float away, his colleagues for months jokingly accused him of scarfing it down.
Rubio has since left the station, (in shame i'm sure) but now he can prove he's innocent.
Even before the tomato's discovery, Rubio was adamant that he wasn't a space fruit thief.
"I did not eat the tomato, and I wish I had at this point because I think everybody thinks I did," Rubio said in an interview in September. "I spent so many hours looking for that thing."

A doctor on TikTok went viral giving the reasons why you should NOT shower with water that's too hot. It starts with a stitch from a guy saying he can't shower with his wife because of how blistering hot she likes it.
Then it switches to the doctor saying that excessively hot water CAN destroy natural oils that keep your skin moisturized . . . cause redness and irritation . . . damage your hair . . . and you can even pass out if exposed too long.
