History was made today!!!

Speaker Kevin McCarthy was voted out of the job Tuesday in an extraordinary showdown — a first in U.S. history, forced by a contingent of hard-right conservatives and throwing the House and its Republican leadership into chaos.

It’s the end of the political line for McCarthy, who has said repeatedly that he never gives up, but found himself with almost no options remaining. Neither the right-flank Republicans who engineered his ouster nor the Democrats who piled on seem open to negotiating.

McCarthy told lawmakers in the evening he would not run again for speaker, putting the gavel up for grabs. Next steps are highly uncertain as there is no obvious successor to lead the House Republican majority. Action is halted in the House until next week, when Republicans try to elect a new speaker.

So wait a minute...this chaos happens today and they send everyone home for a week??? It's less than 45 days till we face another Government shutdown. Wow...way to do your jobs and figure out the real things that you need to be working on. Disgusted with our Government at this moment.

After customer complaints and a report in the Wall Street Journal, Apple acknowledged the iPhone 15 can get so hot it's uncomfortable to hold the phone. Apple said it will fix a software bug partially at fault and also blamed third-party apps, including Instagram and Uber, for overloading the $800-and-up smartphone, which went on sale last week.

Post Malone has an interesting hobby: He forges swords. He says, quote, "There's nothing better than a cold beer, some good music, and just a hot-ass piece of metal and you're [effing] whaling on it. It's like the most manly thing you could do.

"I'm taking something thousands of degrees, banging on it with a hammer, and making it something to stab with. It'd only get cooler if you could do it on horseback."

For his NEXT hobby, Post wants, quote, "a beautiful ranch.."

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - The time when the largest percentage of the world is sleeping is 5:00 P.M. Eastern. Approximately 75% of people in the world are sleeping at that hour . . . even though very few of them are in the U.S.
