The hot new trend at work is no shoes allowed.
"Fortune" magazine just did a big story on it. And "The Guardian" says it's happening in England, too.
More and more companies are banning shoes at work, especially startups. You can wear socks, slippers, or go barefoot. But leave your shoes at the door.
It's to make the office feel "more relaxed and collaborative," and makes people less anxious. Tech companies in Silicon Valley have apparently been doing it for years.
Not everyone's convinced.
One expert told "Fortune" it comes with some pros and cons. It could create awkwardness or cause hygiene issues. Quote, "What feels casual for some might feel unprofessional, or even uncomfortable, for others."
I'm all for comfy feet...I've taken my shoes off before and just been in my socks, but bare feet should be a no no.

There's a couple in India that got married last December, and they're already seeking a divorce . . . due to irreconcilable differences. But those differences are between their pets.
The couple bonded over their love of animals, but over the past few months they've realized that their pets are NOT bonding.
The wife says her husband's dog harassed and attacked her cat repeatedly. He claims he made it clear before marriage that the wife would not bring her pets into their new home . . . especially her cat, which wouldn't stop hovering over their fish tank.
In the end, the woman picked her cat over her husband, and the man picked his dog over his wife. They tried counseling (the HUMANS that is), and there was even a family intervention . . . but nothing worked.
The divorce is currently being sorted out in family court.

If you just got a text from a recruiter offering $500 a day for a job you're not qualified for, congratulations . . . and I hope you didn't respond.
A new poll found Americans are the #1 target for scammers. The average person in the U.S. deals with 25 iffy messages a week, or three to four per day.
That includes nine calls per week . . . another nine emails . . . and seven scammy text messages. If you add it up, it's more than a thousand bogus messages a year.
They polled people in different countries. And on average, Americans get targeted twice as much as everyone else. Brits are a close second at 21 times per week.

Someone on social media posted about how coffee tables are a "waste of space and money." They argued, "They just collect junk and dust and get in the way of walking and cleaning."
That inspired thousands of reactions. Here are the pro-coffee table points:
Coffee tables are vital for holding drinks . . . including, you know, coffee.
Coffee tables hold remotes, books, and decorative candles . . . you can't lose a remote or a book if it's on your coffee table.
Coffee tables can be helpful when guests are over . . . it can be hard to entertain without surfaces in a living room for drinks, snacks, or board games.
Coffee tables can serve as a dining table . . . for better or worse.
Coffee tables are not an ongoing expense . . . it's mostly a one-time purchase that won't drain your bank account . . . not a recurring cost like all the subscriptions tied to your TV. So why does it matter?

On the flip side, here are the main reasons NOT to have coffee tables:
Coffee tables collect more than just dust . . . they're constantly getting covered in junk and trash that SOMEONE in the house doesn't put away.
Coffee tables can be inefficient in a small room . . . if you're in a small apartment or tight space, it's better to use side tables and end tables to free up the middle of the room, especially if you have smaller kids or video gamers.
Coffee tables make it awkward to move around . . . they have to be close enough to sit your drink down, but that means inviting someone to sit down means they are shuffling through, like getting to a window seat on a plane.
Coffee tables are a place to put your feet up . . . but they shouldn't be.
Coffee tables can stub your toes . . . heavy, bulky coffee tables aren't just difficult to move to clean, they also seem like magnets for banging your toes and shins as you enter or leave the room. (maybe you're just clumsy..do better)

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - The most abused Social Security number ever has been used in fraud by at least 40,000 different people. It belonged to a secretary at a wallet company.
In 1938, Social Security cards were new, and the secretary's boss wanted people to see how they looked in a wallet. So every one of their wallets came with a sample Social Security card inside . . . with her number on it.
