If you've felt like everyone around you has been getting sick lately, I might have your answer: The flu has begun hitting parts of the U.S. earlier this year compared to the last five years, according to the CDC. A city public works department decided to bypass heavy lawnmowers and hired a herd of 40 hungry goats to clear a steep, overgrown hillside along a major commuter route.

The goats quickly turned into local celebrities, with drivers pulling over to watch the "mowing crew" work and residents launching a dedicated social media fan page tracking their daily progress.

You bought your pumpkin..now what? Depends on how long you want to keep it.
Once you carve it...you have 3-5 days.
When buying a pumpkin, next weekend, the 24th is the perfect day!
Make sure it has a stem.
Even if you keep them intact, keep an eye on them. I remember having one on my front porch that i literally had to scrape off the steps!!!

Sometimes, mine don't last that long, the squirrels get to them and enjoy those seeds!!!

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - 1941: Workers officially finished carving the final granite face of Mt. Rushmore in the Black Hills of South Dakota after 14 years of construction.

But - Sculptor Gutzon Borglum originally planned to carve all four presidents down to their waists, but lack of funding, approaching wartime priorities, and his death in 1941 meant the monument was finalized as head-and-shoulders portraits only.
