Halloween can be frightening, and that can include terrifying your wallet with how much you spend on the spooky, scary holiday.
Which states spend the most? Solitaired reviewed the receipts and found that these states spend the most when it comes to trick-or-treating.
The East Coast spends the most money per resident when it comes to buying candy for trick-or-treaters.
Maryland led all states by spending $67.95 on average per resident on candy.
West Virginians landed in second place after spending $61.32 on average. (they are the most generous as the state that gives out the most full size bars)
In third place, Pennsylvania came in at $59.35 on average.
4. Mississippi: $59.32
5. Indiana: $59.14
6. Illinois: $58.12

The 1997-98 NBA season was Michael Jordan's "Last Dance" with the Chicago Bulls. By now, everyone knows the story. Jordan and Co. entered the year knowing it would be the last time the team's current roster would be together. Because of that, it was championship or bust for the Bulls.
Jordan won the Finals MVP award after averaging 33.5 points per game.
One of Jordan's game-worn jerseys from those Finals going for an astounding $14 million at an auction.
The record? That belongs to a game-worn Babe Ruth jersey, per the Associated Press. That jersey, which sold for $24.12 million in 2024, was the one worn by Ruth when he hit his "called shot" home run.

Pope Leo XIV has been diagnosed with lung cancer ... and doctors have removed part of his right lung in a successful surgery.

The Vatican announced Tuesday the 71-year-old pontiff underwent surgery at Rome's Gemelli Hospital, where doctors removed the lower lobe of his right lung after discovering a suspicious growth.
The Pope is expected to spend about a week recovering in the hospital, and his planned November trip to South America remains on the schedule.
Wish you the best!

A Rhode Island pumpkin grower officially broke the North American record after rolling a staggering 3,156-pound giant pumpkin onto the scales at a regional weigh-off.

The colossal gourd required custom rigging and a heavy-duty crane just to lift it onto a flatbed trailer for transport.

Cities are rolling out an interactive community app that lets residents "adopt" street trees in their neighborhood, giving each tree a profile and sending push notifications whenever local weather conditions mean a tree needs extra watering.
It's like a Tamagotchi, but for real life! You get a little notification on your phone saying "your oak tree on 4th street is thirsty," and you get to walk down with a watering can.
