Sabrina Carpenter has been added to Tom Holland's upcoming biopic movie about film star and dancer Fred Astaire, playing Ginger Rogers. Her last role was in 2022's Tall Girl 2.

It's being directed by Paul King, who helmed both Paddington and Paddington 2 as well as 2023's Wonka with Timothée Chalamet.

The script for the project is based on the book The Astaires: Fred & Adele by Kathleen Riley,

When a woman in England heard a prowler outside her home, she confronted him by grabbing a nearby garden gnome and throwing it at him. She hit him and then went back inside. There she grabbed another weapon — a rolling pin — which she preferred since she “didn’t want to break another gnome.” The prowler decided to leave instead.

If you’re on a diet, watch out: Autumn is the most likely time to fall off your diet. Researchers (Georgia State University) found you are most likely to pack on the pounds in the fall. People eat 11 percent more food in autumn than in winter, 14 percent more than in the spring, and 12 percent more than in the summer.

What’s the weirdest way your tech died?

My daughter put her hand through a new tv. It was our first large flat screen. She was playing Wii and got to excited and to close.

I accidentally bent my tv remote in half.

From IT guys:

I was handed a phone that went through a lawn mower.

Girl put her laptop in the microwave to dry it out

A girl broke the screen of a brand new MacBook because it wasn’t ordered in the color she wanted...(well she's an entitled jerk..hope she has the day she deserves)

I posted on my Facebook, and my friends responded!

I had two error messages at once…

‘Excel has encountered an error it cannot recover from and needs to be restarted’ and ‘Cannot quit Excel’.

My laptop was frozen for hours until the battery died.

My phone died when I threw it out the window of a moving car while trying to chase a yellow jacket out the window… I watched as the car behind me swerved to intentionally run it over.

I was mopping.... I put a chair on top of the table to clean under it... The chair hit my beer... My beer went into my open laptop... My laptop and I simultaneously had a total meltdown! The end.

Then there is one of my smart-ass friends (Thanks Eddie) I dropped my abacus and set me back centuries

The New York Times Wirecutter has an article of 118 things to do instead of Doomscrolling.

May I add....anything else??

Ok, they said,

Read a book.

Write a book.

Stare at some art.

Make some art.

Cook or bake something you love.

Go to a grocery store and find a food you’ve never eaten before.

Play a solo board game.

Gather a group for a board game or a card game.

Plan a game night.

Put together a puzzle.

Go for a walk.

Clean everything.

Organize your medicine cabinet.

Empty your junk drawer. Then fill it with actually useful stuff.

You get the idea.

By October 1, about 1 to 2 percent of shoppers have finished their Christmas shopping. Recent survey data suggests that December remains the month when most people expect to wrap up holiday purchases.

I will find out who you are and.......steal your presents!!!! How are you this organized??

A train station in India was temporarily closed on two occasions due to smoke… from burning toast. The station was closed for about 20 minutes on two different occasions last month for fire alarms brought on by smoke from a toaster in the office.

Honestly, how hard is it to make toast..maybe get a new toaster?? What is the real problem here??

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - Nickelodeon's Double Dare is celebrating it's 40th Anniversary this year.

Marc Summers was the host and even got used to the network’s signature slime, which was heavily featured in the show’s physical challenges. He explained, “People always want to know what the slime was. Well, the insurance people back in the day said if the slime gets in the kids’ mouths, it has to be edible.”

“The original recipe was vanilla pudding, applesauce, green food coloring, and a little oatmeal to thicken it up,” he revealed.
