In 2026, singles are getting creative.

Young people are cold-calling restaurants to find a date.

A recent video with tons of views, has a girl asking, “Me and my friends were actually thinking of coming to happy hour in about an hour, and I just wanted to ask if there were, like, any cute guys there?”

Others have called coffee shops and bars asking the same question. “NYC dating is hard ya know,” one creator captioned a video calling a West Village restaurant asking if there are any cute guys there.

You already know that people hate when you make a phone call in a public place, a plane is much worse.

BUT

The latest Nuisance on flights Is a Zoom call at 30,000 feet.

Fast, free internet is rolling out on planes around the world, and travelers are finding it hard to resist the temptation to hop on a work Zoom or FaceTime a loved one—in some cases, like head of a cybersecurity company Christopher Mosby’s flight, defying crew instructions that calls of any sort are forbidden.

Get sleep.

Build Self-awareness and reflection

Try mindfulness practices like journaling or meditation - Saying or writing out loud “I’m having a bad day” can be the beat you need to separate yourself from the negativity. “I feel like I’m a mess today” hits differently than “I’m a mess.”

Change your physical environment

Get up and move leads to Get into nature

Reset your breathing

Trying too hard to feel better is one of the worse things you can do in the moment.

Water costs have shot up across the U.S., with a new study by the nonprofit advocacy group Food and Water Watch showing that households are paying 62% more for water at home than a decade ago. Those expenses are rising as utilities invest more in aging infrastructure and in adapting their systems to cope with the effects of climate change, Food and Water Watch said in its study.

A dedicated DIY enthusiast in Ohio spent six months engineering a miniature, gravity-powered roller coaster that loops entirely through his living room and around the kitchen island. Built with safety foam, PVC track, and a custom wheeled cart, the indoor ride handles sharp turns and slight drops while maintaining a smooth, living-room-safe speed.

By the way, he's most likely divorced now.

Fashion Trend - Vintage loose-wale corduroy trousers are capturing major market share as shoppers lean into warm texture mixing for fall wardrobes. Style guides recommend pairing deep earth-tone corduroys with structured knit sweaters and casual loafers. (because who doesn't love making a lot of noise with their pants when they walk?)
