Need some cash..cough up $2 and play the Powerball for Saturday's drawing.

It's now up to $1.70 Billion. The Cash Value payout is $770.3 Million.

It's the third largest jackpot in both Powerball and US Lottery history.

The jackpot was last won on May 31 in California. The current streak is the game record for the most consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner.

The odds of winning? A staggering 1-in-292 million.

The new NFL season kicked off last night.

And in case there was any doubt, a new poll found that yes, football is still America's favorite sport.  It's not even close.

48% of Americans follow football at least a little bit.  That's almost 20 points higher than second place.

Here are the 10 sports they asked about, and how many of us pay attention to each one.

1.  Football, 48%.  That includes NFL and college games.  Or if you somehow only follow Canadian Football, that counts too.

2.  Baseball, 29%.  Should it still be called "America's pastime"?

3.  Basketball, also 29%.  Technically, a tie for second.  But baseball gets the nod because more people said they HATE basketball.

4.  Ice hockey, 12%

5.  Soccer, also 12%.  Again, slightly more haters than hockey.

6.  Golf, 11%

7.  Auto racing, 10%

8.  Tennis, 9%

9.  MMA, 8%

10.  Wrestling, 8%.  It has the most haters of any sport on the list.

A third of Americans (32%) said they don't follow any of those 10 sports.

Wait...Marble Racing didn't make the list????

There is a Michael Jackson biopic that is opening in April next year, and Colman Domingo who plays his father in the movie is claiming that Michael's kids Paris and Prince have been supportive.  But Paris is denying that.  Hard.

She says, quote, "I wasn't involved at all, aside from giving feedback on the first draft and then getting the feedback that [production] was not actually going to address your notes at all.  So I just butted out . . . it's not my project . . .

"The narrative is being controlled and there's a lot of inaccuracy and there's a lot of just full-blown lies . . . I prefer honesty over sales and monetary gain.  I kind of just don't want anything to do with that . . . I'm gonna keep minding my business."

There's a HUGE trend on social media right now called "The Great Lock-In" . . . and the idea is similar:  You commit to making a change NOW, and carrying it through to the end of the year.

It's supposed to be a way of "fully hyper-focusing on a task, goal, or activity" . . . across the final 100-plus days of 2025.

It doesn't have to be a traditional "resolution."  It's just meant to be a way to shake off the summer laziness, and "lock in" on success for the next few months.

According to "Know Your Meme," the original "Great Lock-In" posts started gaining steam a few weeks ago . . . and now, a ton of people have joined.  And "joining" publicly is just a way of holding yourself accountable.

People are pointing out that it's essentially a rebrand of last year's "Winter Arc" . . . "75 Hard" . . . and several other self-improvement online "challenges" over the years.

A woman in Northern England named Julie Williams is selling her house.  And it's in the news because it's got a ball pit for adults.

She added it as a birthday gift to herself.  It's outside one of the bedrooms.  She and her friends like to hang out in it and sip champagne.

She said whoever buys the place will probably get rid of the ball pit.  But if they have kids, maybe not.  The rest of the house is lovely and very adult.  The list price is just over $1 million.

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - 327 years ago - In 1698, Russia's Peter the Great imposed an Annual Tax of 100 Rubles on beards to try to force more men to be clean shaven.

The policy was highly unpopular, met with cultural and religious resistance, but remained in place for decades, with payers receiving a beard token as proof of payment. The tax was eventually abolished by Empress Catherine the Great in 1772.
