A new study asked people when they procrastinate the most . . . and apparently, they got specific answers, other than just "all the time."

After analyzing the responses, they determined that peak procrastination hits at 12:06 P.M. on Mondays.

So it sounds like people get to work on Mondays . . . shake off the cobwebs . . . work for a few hours . . . and then are basically over it by lunchtime.

Overall, 71% of Americans admit to procrastinating.

The study also asked people what they usually find themselves doing OTHER than the things on their to-do list, and the top responses were:  Watching TV . . .  scrolling through social media . . . taking a nap . . .

Visiting with family and friends . . . grabbing a bite to eat . . . "doing nothing" . . . going for a walk . . . and going shopping.

Mountain Dew's newest promo is free soda if you cross into Mountain Time between now and the end of the year.

It's part of a marketing campaign where they declared it their "official" time zone.  They also just added a new mascot this summer called the "Mountain Dude" . . . just a random bearded guy in a green fur coat.

To get your free soda, you have to register at WelcomeToMTNTime.com.  Then go back once you've crossed into Mountain Time and get a code for a free 20-ounce bottle.

People who LIVE in Mountain Time would apparently have to leave . . . register in a different time zone . . . and go back.

They're also doing a separate contest called "Mountain Dew Hauls" where five people who MOVE to the Mountain Time Zone this month will have their moving expenses reimbursed up to $10,000.

So, if you happen to be relocating to one of the 13 states with Mountain Time, maybe check that out.

Can you name all of the Mountain Time States?? Answer at the end of the briefing.

Maybe Taylor Swift won't be at any of Travis Kelce's games this season . . . because according to Britain's "Daily Mail" tabloid, they're going to announce their breakup on September 28th.

The "Daily Mail" leaked pictures of what is likely a fake contract which details when the breakup will be announced and how it will be managed.  It says the announcement will be, quote, "gracious, respectful and stress mutual respect."

It will also state that Taylor and Travis are, quote, "both committed to their careers and personal growth.  They remain friends and wish each other the best."

The document was supposedly drawn up by a Los Angeles P.R. firm called Full Scope, but they deny it came from them, and threatening to get their lawyers involved.

(we just had a story about her drawing up plays for the Chiefs...so....I also doubt they would break up during the football season)

Some people fantasize about telling their boss they're quitting. . . but for others, it's actually an uncomfortable situation.

There are people who have stayed at a job longer than they wanted to . . . and maybe they're still there because they didn't want to tell their company they wanted out.  So, this is for those people.

There are several emerging companies that will quit your job for you.  They call your employer . . . tell them you're leaving . . . and even handle and negotiate the details, like your last day, and how to return company-owned uniforms and equipment.

For now, the two prominent companies offering this service are in Japan, which makes sense . . . culturally, Japanese people can be less confrontational, especially when they respect their boss or business, and feel like they may be letting people down by leaving.

But the reverse could be true too.  One person said they used the service because, quote, "This was my way of conveying a message:  'You colleagues aren't worth saying goodbye to.'"

It sounds like this service would cost you around $200 or $300.

Billboard released its 2024 Songs of the Summer chart yesterday.  They are the Top 10 songs from Memorial Day to Labor Day.  It's worth mentioning that for the second year in a row, Country has dominated the top two spots, and second that has Morgan Wallen on it.

A 24-year-old guy named Christopher Ganzel stole a car from a library parking lot last month in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, near Philly.

Some guy left his green 2023 Subaru Forester running, and Chris took off in it.  But he didn't just take it for a joyride.  He drove it to a police station.

He'd apparently had an earlier run-in with cops . . . and wanted to ask them for his drugs back.

They didn't realize he was in a stolen car at that point.  But they did "moments later" when they got a report that he'd just used it as his getaway car for another crime.

This could be good news or bad news depending on when you head off to work . . .

A study found rush hour is evolving.  There aren't as many cars on the road pre-9:00 A.M. anymore, because traffic is getting more spaced out.  But in a lot of cities, that means there's a mini rush hour all day long now.

The report found the "midday rush hour" is worse than ever.  There are almost as many cars on the road at noon as there are at 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.  It's been the general trend since covid hit and flexible hybrid schedules became a thing.

You'd think spreading it out might mean there'd NEVER be a rush hour.  But another report found public transportation never fully rebounded after the pandemic.  So there are just more cars on the road.

The traffic analyst behind the report said there's "less of a morning commute, less of an evening commute, and much more afternoon activity" now.  And maybe get used to it.  He called it the "new normal."

Today is the first day of the new NFL season and Today's Useless Fact of the Day - There have been two NFL games in the Super Bowl era where a team's defense held an opponent to negative yardage, but it hasn't happened in 45 years.

The L.A. Rams held the Seattle Seahawks to -7 yards in a game in 1979 . . . and the Oakland Raiders held the Denver Broncos to -5 yards in a game in 1967.

(The 13 states with Mountain Time are Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Texas.)
