Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest film, One Battle After Another, easily takes the No. 1 spot at the weekend box office with an estimated $22.4 million

2. Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie $13.7 million

3. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle $7.1 million

4. The Conjuring: Last Rites $6.9 million

5. The Strangers: Chapter 2 $5.9 million

Last year, a woman in Florida named Cynthia Kelly sued Hershey's for $5 Million . . . claiming their pumpkin-shaped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups were falsely advertised.

She said the packaging shows the pumpkins have "cool, carved designs" and faces . . . but in reality, there are no faces.  And that bothered her.

That's wasn't the only thing.  She pointed out that several of their Halloween candies are also less "spooky" than they appear on the wrapper.

Well, Cynthia will not be getting a $5 million payout . . . and the candies will not be pulled from store shelves, where they're deceiving America.

A judge just dismissed the lawsuit.  She ruled that the plaintiffs "failed to prove" any "concrete economic injury," and the products were not "rendered worthless."  In other words, they're still delicious.

In fruit news, some people avoid mangos because they're so sugary, but a George Mason University study found daily mango eaters showed better blood sugar control and less body fat than those eating a lower-sugar snack. (but they are more stressed out due to trying to cut one.)

A liar in Pennsylvania got in trouble during a traffic stop when he couldn't remember the fake birthday he provided the cops, or how to spell his own fake name.  Meth was reportedly involved.

(If you want to give a fake birthday, you have to take 10 years off...then you can do the math quickly if asked!)

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - There's a word for HALF a decade, or five years:  It's called a "lustrum."  As in:  It's hard to believe it's been a lustrum since the pandemic broke out.
