So what is IPA? The initials stand for India pale ale. It was the answer to the problem of providing beer for the British Empire in the east. It was too hot to brew in India, so what was needed was a beer that could survive the grueling six-month journey from Britain intact. “Jeopardy!” executive producer Mike Richards is in advanced negotiations with Sony Pictures Television to become permanent host of the venerable quiz show, taking the reins of the syndicated powerhouse that was fronted by Alex Trebek for 36 years.

A Sony Pictures spokesman said discussions were ongoing with several potential candidates. He would not comment specifically on Richards’ status. A source close to the situation cautioned that there’s no certainty that the sides will close a deal and that other candidates remain in the mix, although Richards is clearly the front-runner.

Richards previously hosted the series “Divided” and “The Pyramid” for Sony Pictures’ GSN cabler.

At the age of 95, the comedian and filmmaker Mel Brooks has written his first memoir. All About Me!: My Remarkable Life in Show Business will be published on 30 November by Penguin Random House in both the US and the UK.

The book will cover everything from Brooks’s New York childhood and service in the second world war to his creative partnership with the late Carl Reiner, his 40-year marriage to Anne Bancroft and how his film The Producers was adapted into an award-winning musical.

Brooks described the writing process as “joyous and at times bittersweet”.

“I hope fans of comedy will get a kick out of the stories behind my work, and really enjoy taking this remarkable ride with me,” he said.

If more Americans don't get vaccinated, there is "ample chance" of another coronavirus variant emerging, one that could be more aggressive and more pervasive than the Delta variant, Dr. Anthony Fauci warned Wednesday.

"If another one comes along that has an equally high capability of transmitting but also is much more severe, then we really could be in trouble," Fauci, the nation's leading infectious disease expert, said in an interview with McClatchy.

"People who are not getting vaccinated mistakenly think it's only about them. But it isn't. it's about everybody else, also," said Fauci.

I know it's a touchy subject..but I personally want this over...get your shot!
