The Pumpkin Spice Latte returned to Starbucks yesterday, the earliest they've ever brought it back . . . a full month before fall REALLY starts on September 22nd.
The PSL returned on August 24th last year, which tied the previous record for earliest debut. So they bumped it up an extra two days.
And if you were thinking of slipping a little something EXTRA into your coffee today, here's your excuse: The Pumpkin Spice Latte turns 21 this year. It debuted in 2003.

The Big Four bands of Gen X (65-79) Dad Rock are Aerosmith, AC/DC, Van Halen, and Guns N' Roses.
They also did the Big Four of Boomer (46-64) Dad Rock: The Beatles, the Eagles, Led Zeppelin, and the Rolling Stones.
Wow. I really do straddle these two groups, sometimes called Generation Jones (1954-1965)

Someone analyzed almost two million tweets from around the globe to see which countries swear the most online. And it's not even close, the U.S. ranks first.
They used a list of 1,600 swear words. So, not just the big ones but a VERY large vocabulary of cussin'. And overall, 4.2% of America's posts include at least one dirty word.
4% might not sound like a ton. But second place swears more than 40% less than that. Here are the countries, states, and cities that swear the most . . .
1. The U.S. swears in 4.2% of posts. Then it's the U.K., 2.9% . . . Australia, 2.7% . . . New Zealand, 2.5% . . . and Canada, a hair under 2.5%. Kuwait ranked last. Just 0.4% of the stuff posted in English there has swearing in it.
2. The most foul-mouthed state is Maryland at 6.6% of all posts. Louisiana is next at 6.2 . . . Georgia, 5.7 . . . Virginia, 4.8 . . . and Ohio, 4.7. South Dakota swears the least at just over 2% of all posts.
3. The most foul-mouthed major city is Baltimore at an impressive 7.8%. So, one in every 13 tweets has a swear word. Baton Rouge is next at 7.3% . . . Atlanta, 6.7 . . . Detroit, 6.6 . . . and Houston, 6.3%. Lexington. Kentucky is the most PG city at just 2% of all posts.

It's the new social media "challenge." You tell it to roast you, then post what it says online. The more savage, the better. Here's the kind of stuff it spits out . . .
It told one person, "[Your] Instagram page is a chaotic jumble of filtered selfies, half-baked motivational quotes, and painfully staged 'candid' moments that scream, 'Look at me, I'm relatable!'"
It told another, "Your feed is basically a mix of thirst traps and tourist snaps. [But] I'm guessing you spend more time flexing in front of mirrors than actually exploring the city."
And one more, "This feed looks like it's trying to convince people you're living your best life. But really, it's just a chaotic mess of 'Hey, look at me doing totally normal things!'"

According to a new survey, the perfect age to go on an adventure is: 42. And 36% of people say they've become more adventurous with age.
Around one in four Americans say their life can feel boring . . . and the average person fantasizes about going on an adventure FOUR times every day.
But most people need a push. Just 10% of people feel like they could be adventurous in their current life on any given day. Even though 83% of people say you can't be too old to be adventurous.
About half of us would be okay with a simple adventure . . . something "outside our daily routine . . . that maybe makes us appreciate life a little more."

Here's a hiccup cure you've maybe never tried . . .
A heart surgeon in Georgia named Dr. Jeremy London posts lots of health advice on TikTok. And he says the secret to curing hiccups is LEMON JUICE.
If you can't stop hiccupping, drop a little lemon or lime juice in the back of your throat. He claims it'll cure them immediately.
He lists four possible reasons it works. For example, it might reset things by stimulating your vagus nerve.
Or, the "sudden sensory input" might just distract your body for a split second, and that's what does it.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - "Goodbye" is actually a shortened version of the phrase "God be with you."
By the way, if someone sneezes and says gazunite, God Bless You, isn't a translation. It's German for Health and a suffix of hood.
