Do you pee in the shower? Maybe you shouldn't. Especially if you are a woman.

A doctor named Alicia Jeffrey-Thomas specializing in physical therapy for pelvic floor muscles (the ones that keep your pee from coming out accidentally), says peeing in the shower could eventually lead to leakage.

Basically, women's bodies aren't designed to pee standing up. And doing it too much trains your pelvic floor muscles to let you do it. Which you don't want, especially as you get older.

So does that mean guys can pee in the shower and not worry about it? Yes and no.

Obviously, men pee standing up most of the time. But even for guys, there's a reason to not do it in the shower. It trains your body to associate peeing with running water.

If you do it a lot, your brain will start thinking that running water means it's time to go. So you might start feeling the urge to pee when you wash your hands or fill up a glass of water. (I think this one is totally off base..nothing like a good pee in the shower.)

Those old video games collecting dust in the attic could be worth big money. An unopened copy of Super Mario Bros. recently sold for $2 million on the collectibles site Rally.

That broke the record for world’s most expensive video game, reached just a few weeks earlier when a copy of Super Mario 64 sold for $1.5 million. And that happened just two days after a copy of The Legend of Zelda sold for a then-record $870,000. Like other collectibles, vintage video games have seen a surge in popularity during the pandemic. But it’s not just any old game that’s fetching six or seven figure sums at auction. The “holy grails” are unopened editions of well-known titles. As soon as the box has been opened, the value drops by half.

Oh..by the way

If you played the NES, SNES or Nintendo 64, you’ve probably blown into a cartridge or two. The quick-fix trick cleared out any dust that was preventing games from working properly — or so we thought.

The PBS Digital Studios show It’s OK To Be Smart recently examined the practice, which was often used when a game appeared to be frozen or did not launch correctly.

However, it turns out our “cleaning” efforts were never actually doing anything and all that excess breathing was really just our brains playing tricks on us. As the video below explains, what actually helped get the games working was simply removing the cartridge and placing it back into the system — blowing air had nothing to do with it, and actually, the moisture in your breath may have even damaged games.

Are you a member of a book club? If anyone in your club listens to the audio version do other make them feel guilty for “cheating?” University of Virginia psychologist Daniel Willingham was asked the “cheating” question fairly often, especially since he published a book on the science of reading. Growing tired of the question he wrote a blog post addressing it. If, he argued, you take the question from the perspective of cognitive psychology — that is, the mental processes involved — there is no real difference between listening to a book and reading it. So, according to that understanding of the question: No, audiobooks are not cheating.

… “Cheating” with an audio book suggests that the listener got some reward without putting in the work. But Willingham said that’s not true. Researchers have studied the question of comprehension for decades, and “what you find is very high correlations of reading comprehension and listening comprehension.” ( Goodreads.com has some audio dramas, it counts it as a book, but you don't get the page count...audiobooks you can actually use that!)

Colin Jost has confirmed Page Six’s story that his wife, Scarlett Johansson, is expecting their first child — and said he can’t wait to become a dad.

While performing at a stand-up gig at the Ridgefield Playhouse in Connecticut over the weekend, Jost said, “We’re having a baby, it’s exciting,” according to a source in the audience.

Page Six exclusively revealed back in July that Johansson is pregnant and due soon.

The “Avengers” star first sparked pregnancy rumors in June after skipping out on several “Black Widow” events.

“She hasn’t been doing many interviews or events to promote ‘Black Widow,’ which is surprising since it is a huge Marvel/Disney release and she is both the star and an executive producer,” our source explained at the time.
