What's the one meat option every solid Fourth of July cookout HAS to have?  A new poll put burgers at #1, followed by hot dogs, steak, chicken, and ribs.  Fish was voted the most underrated option.

Here are the top reasons people said they love to grill in summer . . .

1.  Grilled food is delicious.  63% agreed with that.

2.  Cooking outside is a nice change, 51%.

3.  It just puts me in a good mood, 42%.

4.  It's a "seasonal" experience, 36%.  So, tradition.

5.  It's easy, 34%.

The Top 10 also include:  It's fairly healthy . . . it's quick . . . it creates a chance to spend time with loved ones . . . and "I'm PROUD of my grilling skills."

Speaking of those skills, the poll also found WOMEN deserve more cred around the grill than they often get.  Most Americans say it's an outdated idea to think men should automatically man the grill.

Google did another round-up of the top who, what, when, where, and why questions we asked last month.  Here's a quick look back at what America was googling in June . . .

1.  "Who is the Hawk Tuah girl?"  She's 21-year-old Hailey Welch, from Tennessee.  She went viral last month for her R-rated response to a question about what to do if you want to make a guy go crazy in bed.

2.  "What is Juneteenth?"  It became a federal holiday in 2021.  It commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.

3.  "When is the presidential debate?"  It was last Thursday.  If you missed it . . . consider yourself lucky.

4.  "Where is Suri Cruise going to college?"  Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh.  Yes, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' daughter is 18 now.

5.  "Why has J.Lo cancelled her tour?"  She announced it at the end of May and said it was to spend more time with family.  But she also hadn't been selling many tickets, plus lots of Bennifer drama going on.

And for more specific holiday seraches.

Google Trends posted its big Fourth of July round-up, looking at the top things we're googling right now.  Here are the highlights . . .

1.  The top "how to grill" searches this year are for corn on the cob, salmon, chicken, asparagus, and burgers.

2.  The top boozy drinks we're googling are Bomb Pop cocktail, sangria, Aviation cocktail, margarita, and Aperol spritz.

3.  Most of the "salads" we're googling aren't the leafy kind:  Pasta salad . . . cucumber salad . . . chicken salad . . . fruit salad . . . potato salad . . . macaroni salad . . . corn salad . . . Jell-O pretzel salad, which is a dessert . . . and cowboy caviar.  That's beans, corn, and other stuff all mixed together.

4.  "Trazodone for dogs" is a trending search.  It's an anxiety med that helps pets deal with fireworks. Searches for it always spike in early July.  And searches for "baby headphones" are up too.

5.  The top "things to do" searches are for water parks, fireworks, camping, movies, and trips to the zoo.

6.  The top-trending "red, white, and blue" clothing search this year is for SKORTS, or a skirt-shorts hybrid.  T-shirts are next, then hats.

Okay, parents.  What the most unethical or underhanded thing you've done to trick your kid into doing what you wanted?

We're talking white lies, maybe even beige lies.  But also just unethical hacks you've used.  People online had some good ones.  Here are the highlights . . .

1.  Changing the time on the clock to make them go to bed.  Like it's 7:15, but you change it to 8:00 and say, "Oh, it's bedtime!"

2.  "When the ice cream truck plays music, that means it's out of ice cream."

3.  The Tooth Fairy comes EVERY night to check for teeth, but also to see if you brushed.  And if you didn't . . . she yanks a tooth out.

4.  Someone got their kid to read by turning on the subtitles on their TV.  They say they went up four reading levels during COVID.

5.  A guy's parents told him he was allergic to alcohol.  They finally came clean on his 18th birthday and said they just didn't want him drinking in high school.

6.  Tell little kids the sunroof in your car is for the ejector seat, and threaten to push it if they don't shut up.

7.  If your toddler touches something that's hot, it's a chance to claim other things are hot.  Like, "Never touch that vase, it's hot too."

8.  "Your tongue turns purple when you lie."  Then if you ask to see their tongue and they hesitate, you know they're lying.

9.  When the batteries in a loud annoying toy die, tell them they don't make those batteries anymore.

10.  "Your goldfish went on vacation . . . but he'll be back soon."

A 55-year-old man in Philadelphia recently went to the E.R. after a bee stung him directly in the EYEBALL. It stung him in the right eye where the iris meets the sclera.  That's the white part of your eye.

The stinger was stuck in it, so they tweezed it out.  But his eye was still swollen and bloodshot two days later, and his vision was worse.  So he went to an eye specialist.

It turned out a small piece of the stinger was still lodged in his eyeball.  It was so small, they could only see it with a microscope and special dye.  They had to use something called "micro-forceps" to get it out.  Then they gave him some special eyedrops, and he recovered.

Experts say stings to the eyeball are extremely rare, and there are only a handful of cases on record.  But if it ever happens to you, see an eye doctor as soon as possible.  The equipment in the E.R. isn't specialized enough.
