Celebrate:
Juneteenth - Although Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation went into effect on January 1, 1863, it was not until after the war was over that slaves became free in Texas, possibly because the Proclamation could not be enforced there, or because news of the Proclamation had not been spread there. The war ended in April of 1865, but word did not reach Texas until the following month, and it was not until June that the Confederate Army in the area surrendered. It became a federal holiday in 2021.

A German man assembled 65,000 Lego bricks into the shape of a bratwurst and bun to break the Guinness World Record for the largest Lego brick sausage.
He said the record attempt paid tribute to his home region.

"In my home region of Thuringia in Germany, the bratwurst is a local specialty that has since become known around the world. Together with the meat and sausage producer Die Thüringer we wanted to create a tribute to the famous bratwurst and to our region," Tommy Schmidt said.
He said it took a total of about a year to complete the project, including six months for the construction phase.
The finished model, a bratwurst with a bun and a line of mustard on top, officially claimed the record with a length of 6 feet and 6.7 inches long.

HouseBeautiful.com says - Move Over, Cottagecore: "Burrowcore" Is the Cozy Home Trend Everyone Wants Right Now
It’s all about keeping things perfectly imperfect.

It's more about creating a space you never want to leave. Instead of homes that feel perfectly polished or ready for a photo shoot, burrowcore is all about warmth, comfort, and personality. Think low lighting, worn woods, overstuffed seating, vintage finds, layered textiles, and rooms that practically beg you to stay in.
The goal here is to create interiors that look collected, which means antiques, secondhand finds, inherited pieces, worn woods, vintage textiles, bookshelves that actually hold books, and lighting with a warm glow.

Here's your World Cup weirdness!
Described as the "birthplace of the American Revolution", Boston's streets are teeming with monuments and landmarks that tell the story of the nation's history.
And they're now experiencing something of a makeover.
Scotland fans visiting the city for the World Cup have been decorating its statues with bright orange traffic cones, much to the bemusement of locals.

The practice is familiar to anyone from Glasgow, where the Duke of Wellington statue at the Gallery of Modern Art has been wearing a cone at a jaunty angle since the 1980s.
