Cameron Clifford’s 9-year-old son, Cal, had been begging for a pet octopus for years. He might be a tad obsessed, having trick-or-treated as an octopus and had octopus-themed birthday parties.

Dad finally relented and bought a California two-spot Octopus. On Cal’s ninth birthday last fall, the octopus—which he immediately named Terrance—arrived at the house via UPS delivery, swimming in a bag of water packaged inside a cardboard box. Little did he know it was harboring fertilized eggs—leaving the family with 50 unexpected octopus babies.

According to Variety, NBCU plans to give out heart-rate monitors to parents of Olympic athletes so it can capture their reactions as they watch their children compete and share it live on air.

A host of celebrities including American rapper and film star Snoop Dogg, NFL Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, music icon Kelly Clarkson, comedian and talk show host Jimmy Fallon will all add their star power to the mix.

All the action will also be streamed in real-time live on Peacock which will display interactive stats and athlete profiles to engage viewers.

The sock is in, and it's here to stay.

Years ago, the idea of wearing socks with a pair of sandals, let alone heels, would be considered sartorial suicide. The very idea of such a pairing conjures up visions of being five years old, or trying on a pair of shoes in a shop, or putting the bins out. Not exactly the height of glamour.

Gen Z’s exclusively wear their socks up and millennials still wear ankle socks.”  It's said a trainer sock is barely acceptable inside the gym, nothing will ruin a great shoe more than a sad little sock. To pull them up is to be proud.

Red seems to be a hot color, But White socks and block color socks are the safest bets, advises Stothert. “I think having a really nice sock in a bright color makes you look a lot more pulled together,” she says, “you look a little bit more professional if you wear them to work, it finishes your outfit off perfectly.”

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - Ulysses S. Grant's middle name was . . . Ulysses.  His real first name is Hiram.  He swapped his first and second names when he was registering for the military because he didn't want to be known by the initials "H.U.G."

But the "S" was mistakenly added when he got in because his mother's maiden name was Simpson . . . making his initials "U.S."  That led to him picking up the nickname "Uncle Sam."
