Bloomsday is a celebration of Ulysses and its author James Joyce. It is celebrated by academics and diehard fans, as well as by many who have never read nor finished the dense, convoluted, and oftentimes bewildering novel, but who wish to celebrate the book and its author anyway because they recognize the book's importance.

Today is no orange clothes day. Women.com has something to say about it.
You may choose your color outfit for the day based purely on shades you like and don't like. And that's absolutely fine. Many of us choose our clothes depending on personal preference, and then wear them for occasions we think they'd be the most flattering for, and there really is nothing wrong with that.
If you are interviewing for a job, don't wear orange.
"While orange might be your favorite color, on the receiving end, orange can unintentionally communicate that you are an attention-seeking, over-confident candidate."
And it's the first impression, so the rest of the interview could not matter at all.
Also avoid Brown - "in an industry that is fast-paced and innovative it may give the impression you're staid and passive."

A burglary of a home in England apparently ended abruptly when the burglar dropped his glasses on the floor and he couldn’t find them. He fled but returned to the home later to ask the residents for his glasses back. When the homeowners refused, he walked away. Police found him soon afterwards, clearly having trouble seeing as he walked.

Bonnie Tyler, the "Total Eclipse of the Heart" songstress, has woken from her coma.
Tyler, 74, made headlines in May when news broke that she had undergone emergency intestinal surgery in Portugal and was placed in an "induced coma." Now, representatives for the Welsh singer have confirmed that she is conscious but still recovering from the ordeal.
Her family released a statement, "As of this morning, Bonnie remains seriously ill but stable in the hospital in Faro; however, her doctors are still positive that she will make a full recovery."

Good news, speakers. You can now end your sentences with prepositions!
It’s one of the grammar rules that you don't need anymore.
Merriam-Webster argues in favor of ditching the preposition rule, too, claiming that it was made up by grammarians trying to force English to fit Latin rules.
The one exception to this rule is unnecessary tag-ons of prepositions. This means adding prepositions at the end of a sentence when you don’t need to. For example, “Where is this bus going to?” can easily be streamlined to “Where is this bus going?” Fewer words make a more concise sentence.

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - Whenever you read silently to yourself, the muscles in your throat, tongue, and larynx are actually making tiny, imperceptible movements. We are essentially "sounding out" the words in our heads to decode them, even when we aren't moving our lips!
