May has been National Barbecue month since 1981, and yesterday was the specific National Barbecue Day.
A new poll found 92% of Americans look forward to grilling season. 84% of us hope we do it even more than we did last year. Here are a few more quick stats and facts for National Barbecue Day . . .
1. Most Americans think they could get a grill started. 83% say they could successfully get a charcoal grill going. 73% said the same about propane grills.
2. Our favorite things to cook on a grill, in order, are burgers, chicken, hot dogs, and steak. At least 50% of Americans said they'd be fine eating any of those.
3. Our five favorite burger toppings, in order, are: Cheese, ketchup, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. Pickles, mustard, and bacon also made the top ten.
4. Do you say "barbecue" or "cookout"? It might depend on where you grew up. People from the South and Northeast are a little more likely to say "cookout." People out West and in the Midwest are more likely to say "barbecue."

The "Sports Illustrated" Swimsuit Issue has several covers this year . . . and one of them features 81-year-old Martha Stewart. She's wearing a one-piece bathing suit with a severely plunging neckline.
Martha did a little prep for the shoot. She says, quote, "I didn't starve myself, but I didn't eat any bread or pasta for a couple months. I went to Pilates every other day.
"I live a clean life anyway. Good diet and good exercise and healthy skincare can do all that stuff, but it was kind of fun."
She adds, quote, "To be on the cover [at] my age was a challenge, and I think I met the challenge."
Martha is one of four cover models this year. The others are Megan Fox, model Brooks Nader, and trans singer Kim Petras.

Someone posted a photo from their office fridge, where someone had literally padlocked their milk. The cap required a key to be opened, but technically there wasn't anything preventing a thief from taking the whole thing.
The idea was clearly to deter theft of any kind.
Some people commented that it was petty, because it's just milk, but most people said it was justified, just like securing your personal items in a locker . . . especially if there have been "issues" with the communal work fridge.
Yes, the milk lock is an actual product that replaces the existing cap. It's called UdderLok, and it's a British thing that fits with standard milk jugs over there.

Christopher Lloyd is up for a fourth "Back to the Future" movie. He says, quote, "I would love to do a sequel . . . If somebody has a brilliant idea that would justify a fourth film it might happen."
He also thinks Michael J. Fox could do it, too. Quote, "There was a certain ease between us. I didn’t have to struggle to get there with Michael. There was never any conflict. It just fit. And it's never stopped.
"I feel like we could go and do it again after all these years and not have to think about the relationship between Marty and Doc."

The other week we had a story of a woman that lived in a cave for a long time, today breaking records isn't enough for Dr. Deep Sea. Joseph Dituri set a record for living underwater — 74 days — but isn't planning to surface. He's going to stick it out for a full 100 days off the coast of the Florida Keys. His goal is to help experts understand how long-term pressure affects the human body, information that could be used in a number of ways from space exploration to helping those with traumatic brain injuries.

The Kelly Clarkson Show just moved to a different zip code as it looks to jumpstart a new era but could a report about a toxic workplace environment be at the root of the cross country jump?
A report from Rolling Stone details accounts from unnamed industry veteran employees who said that they were overworked, underpaid, and traumatized by their experiences working on the show. The workers also noted that Clarkson is likely clueless about the true feelings of her staffers.
The host has responded to the allegations and said, "To find out that anyone is feeling unheard and or disrespected on this show is unacceptable.

Bobi is celebrating the big Three One — pretty impressive for a pooch. The purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world’s oldest dog. Bobi, who lives in Portugal, has slowed down in his later years, but his owner attributes his long life to freedom to roam and plenty of friends.

It's not that you're getting older . . . dialogue in movies and TV shows is getting harder and harder to hear. That's why even young people are addicted to subtitles.
But those days might be over, because Amazon is rolling out a new streaming feature called Dialogue Boost, that lets you increase the volume on the dialogue ONLY.
So far it's only available on a few Amazon originals like "Jack Ryan", but they're promising to add it to more content.
If you want to try it out, it's in the audio and subtitles drop-down menu labeled "English Dialogue Boost: Medium" and "English Dialogue Boost: High".

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - I learned on the Game Shows Show on ABC that Alex Trebeck, when he was the host on the rebooted Jeopardy in 1984, was the first game show host to have a mustache.
