Spring Cleaning!!! Of your phone!
There's a new survey out on digital clutter . . . and it found that the average American has:
1,044 unread emails.
12 unread text messages.
17 unread social media notifications.
11 unread app messages.
15 open browser tabs.
9 unused smartphone apps.
And 2 pending software updates.
And to be clear, that's unread emails and text messages not unanswered.
Not everyone can handle leaving something unseen. 63% of people say they currently have ZERO unread texts and 54% say they have no unread social media notifications.
Email is harder. 32% of people claim they have zero unread emails.
Here are a few more stats: 77% of people feel digital clutter negatively impacts their life . . . 50% say they get frustrated because digital clutter makes it difficult to find apps and files they need . . .
And 31% of people have paid to upgrade a device to one with more storage because of digital clutter.

Someone asked Reddit to name the top jobs that require a high tolerance for being yelled at. Are you one of the very patient people with a job on this list?
1. Customer service reps. Especially if you work at a call center.
2. Teachers. They get yelled at by kids AND parents.
3. Members of the military. Being yelled at is expected, especially in basic training.
4. Referees. From pro sports all the way down to Little League.
5. Cops. And they're expected to stay calm and professional through it all.
6. Healthcare workers. That includes doctors, nurses, and even vets. Emotions run high in a crisis, especially when it's medical stuff.
7. Pharmacists. Again, it's health-related. And they end up being the middle-man for insurance stuff.
8. Social workers. It's just a high-stress environment.
9. Gate agents for airlines. They deal with stressed-out travelers all day.
10. Line cooks. Watch any episode of "The Bear" for a taste of what it's like.
Check out the thread here.

A career consultant came up with a list of things that shouldn't be on your résumé in 2025. They're either too old-school or never should have been on there in the first place. Including any of these can lower your chances of landing an interview.
1. Your salary or salary requirements. Worry about that once you get an interview. Listing it on your résumé won't do you any good.
2. The line, "References available upon request." You're just wasting real estate, and their time. They know you'll give them references if they ask.
3. Bright colors or graphics. All the big companies use software now to screen résumés and search for keywords. And it doesn't always recognize graphics. So what looks good to a human might not look good to a robot.
4. The full URL for your LinkedIn page. Just hyperlink. They're probably looking at your résumé on a computer at this point, not printing it out.
5. Your full home address. Your city and state are plenty. No one needs to be able to check your place out on Google Maps.
6. The same word over and over. "Managed" is a big one people use too much. Like, "Managed a team of employees," followed by "Managed multiple budgets." Mix it up with words like "led," "directed," and "supervised."
7. A third page. No one's résumé should be three pages long. Two is fine if you've worked five or more jobs, or have 10-plus years of experience. But three pages means you're probably including stuff that isn't all that relevant.

A website ranked all 50 states and Washington, D.C. from the BEST places to work from home to the WORST. The rankings are based on factors like the percentage of people working from home . . . internet and utility costs . . . and housing costs.
Deleware is #1 on the list..and Pennsylvania is in the top 10.
Alaska is #1 worst.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Honey Nut Cheerios don't contain any nuts. They replaced ground almonds with, quote, "natural almond flavor" that comes from ground up peach and apricot pits in 2006.
