A man in Montreal is fighting a parking ticket that his daughter got in front of their home on April 1st. And it's so bad it SHOULD be an April Fools' Day prank.
Early in the morning, the city installed signage for a brand new bus stop in front of the man's house. The sign is actually in his front lawn. The crew finished up at about 7:55 A.M.
Then, just 10 minutes after the sign was put up, parking enforcement came by and gave his daughter a parking ticket for her car blocking the bus stop.
But her car was there overnight, before the bus stop even existed.
The man says they were given no advance warning about the bus stop coming, so there's no way they could've known that they wouldn't be able to park there.
The city agrees . . . they say they never update property owners about their 10,000 bus stops . . . but the ticket will not be reversed. They say once a ticket is written, there's nothing they can do.
The man is contesting this madness, but he's annoyed that he has to spend his time and energy on something so stupid.

There's a new poll out on running swagger, where 2,000 people were apparently asked which animals they thought they'd be able to outrun.
And 2% believe they could outrun a horse in a 100-meter dash.
For what it's worth, the fastest horse ever recorded managed a speed of more than 40 miles per hour, and Usain Bolt's fastest speed was 28 miles per hour.
27% of people are confident they could outrun a crocodile, which can run around 10 miles per hour on land. 20% believe they could outrun an elephant, which can run more than 20 miles per hour.
Another 11% of people think they could outsprint a house cat for around 30 feet, even if a cat would be able to outlast them over a full 100 meters.

It's been almost two years since Tina Turner passed away, but it seems some fans in London might be late to the news.
"Tina: The Tina Turner Musical" is currently running over there, and there's a disclaimer on their website to forewarn fans that Tina will NOT be appearing in "this" production. Tina died almost two years ago.
It also adds, quote, "The producers cannot guarantee the appearance of any particular artist at any performance, as this is subject to a variety of factors including illness, holidays, or events beyond the producers' control."
The musical first premiered in 2018, and Tina was involved in creating the show. It's possible the disclaimer was in response to an unrelated lawsuit Tina was involved with before her death.
She sued a tribute act in Germany for impersonating her so well, that it confused fans. The court ruled in favor of the tribute act in 2022.

A 24 year old Australian man is accused of breaking his country’s nuclear non-proliferation laws for ordering a sample of plutonium online in a bid to collect all the elements in the periodic table.
His lawyer is arguing that Lidden is not some maniac or mad scientist with a nefarious agenda, but rather a “science nerd” who had made it his goal to collect all the elements in the periodic table, even radioactive ones.

His lawyer also says, “The level of the response was a massive overreaction given what the investigative authority already knew,” Sutton said. “Rather than give him an opportunity to return the items, the kitchen sink was thrown at him, along with the utensils inside.”
Do you know who else has almost all of the elements in a periodic table?
Bill Gates has a wall-mounted periodic table in his office, featuring samples or representations of all 118 elements, showcasing his passion for science and chemistry. (minus of course of the ones you shouldn't have.)
