Google searches for "my eyes hurt" skyrocketed right after the eclipse ended.  They peaked around 3:20 P.M., just as the eclipse was maxing out on the East Coast.

Searches for "Why do my eyes hurt?" were also up.  Answer:  Because you just stared at the sun, dummy.

People have also been claiming to have "eclipse sickness," even though there's no evidence that's a real thing.  Reported symptoms range from insomnia, fatigue, and no appetite . . . to one woman who claimed it knocked her off her menstrual cycle.

The Johnsonville sausage company recently conducted a survey on American attitudes and 80% of adults say they are sick and tired of the anger and negativity in America.  89% want less negativity in the news and social media.

And it's led to us feeling less connected 60% of adults say having fun with people has gotten harder lately.  But 80% say there are people in their lives that they really want to reconnect with, even if they disagree on some issues.

That can happen.  A whopping 91% of adults say they don't have to agree on everything to enjoy a meal together . . . and 71% say it's easier if you're sharing great food.  75% of Americans agree that people are mostly good.

If you're going to wear a band's merch, you better know AT LEAST three of their songs.  But a surprising number of Americans don't agree.

According to a recent poll, more than 30% of Americans don't think you need to know an artist's music to fly their colors.

And 10% say they own a shirt from an artist they've never listened to.

Here are more poll results:

1.  The most popular music artist T-shirt in America belongs to Olivia Rodrigo.

2.  The average person spends $400 on band shirts in their lifetime, but METAL fans spend the most:  an average of $500.

3.  Metal fans also own the most shirts, with an average of 10, while the overall average is six.

4.  34% of Americans own a shirt from a concert they never went to.

Today is Global Work From Home Day

A website ranked all 50 states and Washington, D.C. from the BEST places to work from home to the WORST, with the rankings being based on factors like the percentage of people working from home . . . internet and utility costs . . . and housing costs.

The 10 best places for remote work are:  New Jersey . . . Utah . . . Delaware . . . Maryland . . . Washington, D.C. . . . Connecticut . . . Washington state . . . Pennsylvania . . . Massachusetts . . .  and North Carolina.

The 10 worst are:  Alaska . . . Montana . . . Arkansas . . . Wyoming . . . South Dakota . . . Oklahoma . . . Mississippi . . . West Virginia . . . Maine . . . and North Dakota.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Australia is the only place in the world with horizontal time zones.  But they only go into effect in the summer . . . which is our winter.
