Merry Christmas all!
30 Year Ago - 1995 Savatage released their ninth album Dead Winter Dead.

It is a concept album that tells a story from the perspectives of a Serb boy, a Bosniak girl, and an old man. The story of the album is set during the Bosnian War, which was ongoing at the time.
Jeff Plate of Horseheads, who was a drummer on tour, was brought in to play drums.
This record gave the band an unexpected radio hit in "Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)", and the band decided they wanted to explore this kind of music in a different way.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra was born!
The song was re-released in 1997 from the Christmas Eve and Other Stories album and peaked at #49 on the Hot AC Chart and #29 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks in 1998.
