1992 Annie Lennox released her debut solo album Diva. It won the Brit Award for British Album of the Year. Singles were "Why" (#34 #6 AC #12 Alternative), "Precious" (no chart action, but the b-side was "Step by Step" which became a top 10 hit for Whitney Houston in 1996), "Walking on Broken Glass" (#14 #6 AC #7 Alternative #3 Mainstream Top 40), "Cold" (no chart), and "Little Bird" (#49 #1 Club #36 Mainstream Top 40).
There was also a Video Album released with many videos that won Best Long Form Music Video at the Grammys.
