1988 - Information Society - Information Society

35 Years Ago - 1988 Information Society released their self-titled debut album.

Love this album (how can you not like an album that samples quotes from Star Trek), and I bought it on the strength of the first single "What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)" which peaked at #3 on the Hot 100. (#1 Club #10 Modern Rock)

I listened to it on the way home from an Alumni weekend and absolutely fell in love with the whole thing!

"Walking Away" was the follow-up peaking at #9 (#5 Club #15 Modern Rock #64 R&B.)

"Repetition" was the third single only peaking at #76.

The fourth single is a remake of the ABBA song "Lay All Your Love On Me." peaking at #83 (#23 Club.)

The album also featured "Running" which was a single from 1985 distributed to club DJs mostly in Latin Clubs (it is considered Freestyle) and was a club hit making #2.
