1987 - Dirty Dancing Soundtrack

35 Years Ago 1987 The Dirty Dancing Soundtrack was released.

It spent 18 weeks at #1 and has been certified 14-times Platinum. The album went on to sell 32 million copies worldwide and is one of the best-selling albums of all time.

The first single "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, and the Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. It was a smash making #1 on the Hot 100 and AC chart.

Next was "Hungry Eyes" from Eric Carmen. Originally recorded by co-writer Franke Previte's band, Frankie and The Knockouts, it made #4 on the Hot 100 and #2 AC.

"She's Like the Wind" was the next single sung by the movie's star Patrick Swayze. It was a #3 Hot 100 and #1 AC song.

A final single was released by Merry Clayton, "Yes" made #45 and #79 R&B.
