1986 Paul Simon released his seventh album Graceland. Simon became fascinated by a bootleg cassette of mbaqanga, South African street music. He visited Johannesburg, where they spent two weeks recording with South African musicians. the album won the 1987 Grammy for Album of the Year. Charting Singles were "You Can Call Me Al" (#23), "Graceland" (#81), and "The Boy in the Bubble" (#86.)
