40 Years Ago - 1985 Whitney Houston released her debut self-titled album.

It had a slow start but eventually was #1 for 14 weeks.

With its three #1 singles, it made it both the first debut album and the first album by a solo female artist to produce three number-one singles in the US.

"Hold Me" this debut with Teddy Pendergrass made #45, #6 AC, #5 R&B.

"You Give Good Love" peaked at #3, #1 R&B, #4 AC.

"All at Once" was not released as a single in the US but did get radio play.

"Saving All My Love for You" Her first #1 Hot 100, R&B, AC.

"Thinking About You" again, not a commercial single but made #10 R&B and #24 Club.

"How Will I Know" another #1 Smash at Hot 100, R&B, AC, and #3 Club.

"Greatest Love of All" peaked at #1 Hot 100, AC and #3 R&B.
